　　インドの仏 仏教美術の源流」のお知らせ

　インドの仏さんたちが日本にやってきました。仏教が日本に伝わったのは
　6世紀と言われています。以来、様々な仏の像や四天王をはじめとする像が
　つくられました。今回、東京国立博物館で公開されている像は仏教美術の
　源です。日印交流史上、初めてと言うべき本格的な仏像展、仏教美術の展
　覧会です。

　インド新首相モディ氏の来日を契機に昨年10月よりはじまった「The Festival
　of Indiaインド祭」の主要催事です。オープニングにはラジナート・シン・インド
　内務大臣も参加されました。ワドワ大使は、ここにいらっしゃる方々が5人でも
　10人でも展覧会のことを伝えてくれれば、とあつく述べられました。

　私も日印の国家催事に1988年のインド祭以関わってきましたが、インド側の時間
　準備と日本側の受け入れ体制とは隔たりがあり、このような国宝級の大型展を
　日本で開催することが出来なく、挫折して参りました。今回は、国立博物館の
　英断によって、準備期間としては東博始まって以来の短さと聞いております。
　しかしながら、展示は最高の出来映え。主催団体の日経新聞も広報に大変力を
　入れていますが、インド関係者、また仏教関係者の皆さまをはじめ、ワドワ大使の
　言葉に応えるべく、多くの人々にお伝え頂けたらと願います。

　また、5月18日、菩提僊那が太宰府に到着した日に行う継承事業についてですが、
　今年は4回目となります。インドの顔をした菩提僊那像がインドの力でできない
　だろうかというお話が出ていましたが、ワドワ大使のご協力もあり、この度
　ニューデリーにて1ｍ座像が完成しました。展覧会のニュースとともにホットな
　話題ですのでお伝えします。

　大学や団体などある程度まとまった数のチラシ、100円割引チケットの配布が可能な
　場合、また、会報等で広報してくださる場合に必要な写真、チラシデータなど、

　In the 6th century, Buddhism was introduced from the Korean peninsula
　to Japan. Since then, statues including a variety of Buddha and Devas have
　been created. The Buddhist statues displayed in this exhibition are shown
　the origins of Buddhist art.

　This exhibition is one of main events of "The Festival of India" that started
　from October last year in response to India new Prime Minister Shri
　Narendra Modi who has visited to Japan the end of August last year.
　H.E. Mr. Rajnath Singh, Minister for Home Affairs of India participated in
　the opening ceremony of this exhibition held on 16th March.
　 And Smt. Deepa Gopalan Wadhwa said to the people who attended
　the ceremony "could you please introduce about this fantastic exhibition
　to your acquaintances?"

　I have been involved the national special events of Japan and India
　 "the festival of India" since 1988. Japan side had to give up to be hold a
　large exhibition of such national treasure because of the big gap between
　Japan's Acceptance system for it and India's time preparation for it.
　This time, by bold decision of the Tokyo National Museum, the preparation
　period is the shortest time since beginning of the Museum. However,
　the exhibition is fantastic.
　Please introduce this exhibition to your family, friends.

　The memorial event for Bodhisena this year will be held on May 18th that
　he arrived at Dazaifu in Japan. The event will be 4th time.

　There is also supporting of Smt. Wadhwaa ambassador, the 1-meter sitting
　statue has been completed created in New Delhi few days before.
　It's also hot news.
