このブログもどうも旅行記のように最近なってきているので、
たまには真面目に勉強している（？）ところも見せないと・・・（汗）
というわけで、直訳するとなんか仰々しいですが、
先ほど、この授業（略してREP）の最終プレゼンテーションが終わりました。
簡単に説明しますと、既に売られている会社を買って企業家（起業家）に
なるためにはどうしたら良いか、企業価値の判断基準、実際の交渉について、
などなどを実際に今も手がけている講師の方から学ぶと言うものです。
ハーバードやINSEADのケース中心なんですが、講師のつての会計士や
ケースの主人公で実際に起業したり、失敗したりした方など
ゲストスピーカーも充実しており、なかなか興味深い授業でした。
でも実はこれは先期（P4）の授業で、期を通じてのプロジェクトとして
実際にある会社を買うプランを作成し、実際の資本家（VC or PE）に
プレゼンをするという大仕事が控えていたのです。
これがまた想像以上に大変で、売られている会社を探すだけでなく、
実際に接触して情報を集め、魅力的なプランを提供しないといけないのです。
うちのグループはフランス人x3、中国人x1、日本人（僕）x1のグループで、
フランスのメディアカンパニーを買うと言う設定だったのですが、
皆就職活動やら何やらでプロジェクトそっちのけ、僕は仏語さっぱり？なので
個人で進めることも出来ず、で時間は過ぎていく・・・という悪循環。
結局、2週間前くらいからこの授業を落としたら卒業できないという
メンバーが中心となって中国の会社を買うプランを作成し、
とりあえずプレゼンも終わったという状態です。。。
先学期の宿題も僕だけがほとんど全てに関わり、
プロジェクトも途中まで仕事を進めていたは僕ともう１人だけ。
最終プレゼンだけきちんと割り当てをこなしたという感じ。
この授業を通じて、グループワークにおけるチームの人選、スケジュール管理、
メンバーの動機付け、そして会社を買うということの難しさを
ちょっとハードに学んだなぁという気持ちです。

I heard that someone considered I was ONLY enjoying free time here,
I'd like to describe one of the courses I'm now taking at INSEAD.
This course, REP, is the one in P4, the previous period continuing to current period (P5).
REP is the course that offers how to become an entrepreneur by buying a company;
we learn how to evaluate the value of companies sold, how to negotiate, etc.
from the real entrepreneur who is running his own business.
Pedagogical materials are mainly based on case method using HBS and INSEAD cases.
On the other hand, we could have some lectures from real accountants and
entrepreneurs who are the main characters in the cases.
This course's biggest challenge is preparing a investment plan in which
we suggest buying a REAL company that is sold on market.
To achieve the objective, we had to search such companies, contact with
the current managements, and extract any relevant infomation to make
the attractive investment plan to present it to REAL VCs or PEs.
Our group consists of 3 French, 1 Chinese and 1 Japanese (Me!) and
we planned to find French media company.
That is, we had to rely on 3 French guys for searching, contacting, and
most of the stuffs to get information on the companies.
However, people except me have been very busy so far to find new job
and have not contributed to the project per se so much.
I, the typical Japanese, cannot speak French well and had no idea to
proceed our project while completing what I had to do including most of homeworks during the class.
As a result, we ended up in having no companies to buy 2 weeks before the deadline!
Finally, one of us could find 1 Chinese company which might be a target
and we made up our investment plan in 2 weeks, finishing presentation this morning at last...
Through taking this course, I had a definitely hard lesson about:
- the selection of team members
- how to schedule a project that requires us substantial amount of work
- how to motivate other members
and so on...
