On Dec. 9, Japanese PM Fumio Kishida held a meeting with Australian Defence Minister Richard Marles and Foreign Minister Penny Wong at the Kantei (* official residence of the PM).
Taking the situaton in the Indo-Pacific Region where China is raising its maritime advancement into consideration, they confirmed a policy to proceed cooperation in the security field.
They also agreed in a policy to lead measures to realize the "FOIP" by the two countries.

On Dec. 8, a civic organization formed by Ainu ethnic group (* really!?) and scholars, "Citizens' Alliance for the Examination of Ainu Policy" (Sapporo), held a press briefing at the Hokkaido Government Office, and revealed that they sent a written opinion requiring to dismiss Parliamentary Vice-Minister for the MIC Mio Sugita (LDP), who posted a blog entry blaming the Ainu, to PM Fumio Kishida and Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications Takeaki Matsumoto.

In the written opinion, it's emphasized that "We cannot overlook Sugita's hate speech to attack minorities (* not true), and the behavior of the government to continuously tolerate and spread that."
It appealed that "Sugita's staying in the post shows both that the Kishida Cabinet is an administration to discriminate against minorities at home and abroad."
After that, they required to set an occation for Sugita to apologize directly to the parties concerned.

He fiercely criticized former Chief of Staff of Air SDF Toshio Tamogami, who defended Parliamentary Vice-Minister for the MIC Mio Sugita (LDP).

Tamogami tweeted on his account that "LH lawmaker Mio Sugita once again apologized at the Diet for her remark four years ago in Monthly magazine Shincho that LGBT are unproductive. Since the opposition party are shouting, it's likely that LDP executives directed her to do so, in order to restrain influence on the bills' voting. It seems that Japanese politics is heading in a direction not to allow freedom of speech. In a democracy, it's irrational unless you can say anything freely."
He defended Parliamentary Vice-Minister for the MIC Mio Sugita (LDP), who apologized for her remarks about LGBT.

Translation; The U.S. House passed the NDAA, which stipulates expansion of support to Taiwan to upgrade deterrence to China

On Dec. 8, U.S. House of Representatives voted in favor of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), which outlines the defense budget for FY2023 (Oct. 2022 to Sept. 2023).
The total amount is approx. $858 billion (approx. ¥117 trillion), and the contents to significantly expand support for Taiwan, on where China is increasing military pressure, is embedded in it.
It is the final bill agreed upon by both the Senate and the House, and after it's passed by the Senate, it will be signed by President Biden to be enacted.

Concerning armes sale by the U.S. to Taiwan, on Dec. 8, spokesperson of the Chinese Ministry of National Defense, Senior Colonel Tan Kefei, expressed that >the US's move has blatantly ignored China's solemn position and once again grossly interfered in China's internal affairs. It has gravely violated the one-China principle and the three China-US joint communiques, severely jeopardized China's sovereignty and security interests, and seriously undermined the relations between the two countries and two militaries as well as peace and stability in the Taiwan Straits. The Chinese side shows strong anger and resolutely oppose that," and revealed that it has already lodged a stern notification to the U.S. side.

After emphasizing that "The US arms sale gravely violated the [one-China] principle and the three China-US joint communiques, tacit support for the forces of [Taiwan independence] and a destructive act against peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait," Zhu Fenglian required the U.S to carry out political promises such as surely following the [one-China] principle, immediate suspension of arms sale and military cooperation with the Taiwan region, and not supporting "Taiwanese independence."
