The the dark part between words and the spirit

The the dark part between words and the spirit

We rely on language to think and interact with each other, to the point that we cannot live our daily lives without it. We take it for granted that we can use language freely. However, have you ever had the experience of being tossed about by words or trapped in words?

We can recall various experiences with words, and we think by connecting the words in the memory of the brain. However, we weren't able to speak when we were born into this world as newborns. Language is something that you acquire after birth, and you start with "Ah" or "Uh" and naturally learn it by listening to what your parents say. Human beings are equipped with a mechanism to use language, that is, "linguistic ability", and it is not the language itself, but the functions of the brain, the pathways from the sensory organs, and the vocal organs. There is no language difference, and it is designed to support any language. We recognize the sounds we hear and the letters and shapes we see as words, and compare them with the meanings in our memory to understand the content. And certainly, we can freely imagine the memories of past images and words in our head. However, if we think about it carefully, it is only as far as we can imagine with words and images. We don't know how the brain perceives language.

Even though we use words in our daily lives, we are trapped by them, made to follow them, and persuaded by them. Or, you may be often confused by words. Moreover, even if you have a half-hearted understanding, you can supplement the words appropriately and you will be able to understand it and be convinced. Isn't it true that our reality is trapped in words and has become a scramble? It is different from the situation of being unfettered, that is, the freedom of the mind. We are stuck in something strange. Thousands of years have passed since language changed from being a tool for communication to being a language for thinking. Nevertheless, we are now going in circles just replacing words in the process of thinking. And we even tend to amuse themselves with the circular game of words. Words memorized by brain cell recognition are connected to thoughts by information from sensory organs. However, in the end, can we correctly recognize the content of words with our brains?

Even if we have the foundation of our body system as the brain, do we still have underdeveloped parts in our understanding of language? Or maybe we cultivate common sense with others through language, but what we understand as common sense within ourselves is an illusion. Rather than questioning what we see and hear, we live our lives around our interests and what we find interesting. Words are necessary in our lives as tools of communication, but they are also tools for thinking, allowing us to freely create ideas and inspire our minds. However, even if there is a foundation to inspire, it cannot be done without the willingness of the individual who is the subject.

We should be able to think freely in our minds, but we are bound by regulations and restrictions from the outside, and prejudices and stereotypes from the inside. After all, free thinking is an illusion, and we are relegated to a situation where we hesitate to think independently and take new actions. Individuals, who should be supposed to be self-aware subjects, can even become objects of verbal manipulation. This means that there is a dark part in the mind. Here, even in modern times, there is a limit to being trapped by words. In other words, there is a dark side here that we can unconsciously be guided or influenced by words. It's a kind of tacit understanding beyond words in the brain's perception that affects mental energy. Mental energy also works with the words in your head. I don't know why, but it seems that words unconsciously guide the brain's recognition. Then, what happens to the recognition of the brain trapped in words? How should mental energy be released in the perception of the brain?

The dark areas in the brain's perception and the mental energy

We sometimes have the feeling of "Oh?" without being conscious of the object. It is the feeling that when you look at or listen to an object, it seems that something is a little interesting, or that there seems to be something behind it. What you do from there is up to you. In other words, there is a difference in the quality of the mental energy that is generated, whether you think that something interesting is happening and concentrate on waiting, or whether you feel some doubt and concentrate on thinking to analyze the object.

The direction in which the mental energy acts determines the content of the action. So let's think about how mental energy is released when we focus our attention on an object. For example, it will be the same situation as being hypnotized if you concentrate and expect. We are drawn to what we hear and see, just as words and images enter the cracks of our consciousness. If something seems interesting, it may be necessary to question whether there is some kind of trap there. If you concentrate and expect it to be a little interesting, you may be guided by the words. When we listen to words and understand them or not, the brain's perception is divided depending on whether there are expectations or doubts.

In other words, when we hear words, there is a part of us that implicitly decides whether to accept them with conviction or ignore them without being convinced. You realize that it is the unconscious part, the dark part of the psyche. Darkness is a blind spot for self-aware consciousness. When we receive words, we don't really understand the relationship between our brain perceptions at the time. You can accept it without realizing it.

In everyday life, it is understandable that our thinking uses the rules of our preferred language and is bound by what is within our memory. Therefore, it is the self-conscious person who decides whether or not to understand it as words and concentrate on it. However, since recognition signaled by brain cells is not language, we cannot know how words are converted in the brain and recognized as objects. Getting caught up in words has to do with concentration and expectations.

A trap in the brain's cognitive bias

Even when we are conscious of what we see and hear as reality, the truth may differ from what we actually see, for example in an optical illusion. It is the recognition in the brain that observes the object and replaces it with words and confirms it. The reality around us is the result of our brain interpreting information from our sensory organs, such as what we see and hear. Even if you were convinced you understood it yourself, you may have biased the words against your memory and combined them. At that stage, it will not be possible to judge whether you understood the word correctly or distorted it.

When people try to analyze substances with scientific objectivity, if there is a fundamental bias in their perception, the results that it leads will also be biased. Although there is a word called "objective", there may be a bias in the subjective perception of individual human beings due to the bias of the brain, and there may be a trap set there. And the relationship between self-consciousness and objects is influenced by the tacit understanding of common sense. The color of words and biased common sense become stereotypes, which affect the recognition in the brain. In other words, there is a concern that the truth is no longer visible there.

Then, what should be the perception that correctly captures common sense and stereotypes? It will always think about the relationship with the object in self-consciousness. Coping with darkness is coping with the part of the brain that engages perceptions without us being conscious of it. The brain's perception may receive reality through biased compensation, and it is not only an illusion of image, but it can also be trapped by words or guided by words.

In other words, we can assume that we understand the language subconsciously, and there is an implicit understanding of the dark part. If you understand that there is a dark part in the recognition in the brain, the mental energy of thinking behind the conviction will work there. We don't see the relationship between our brain's perceptions and words. And then there are the impressions that words have and the beliefs they have about the subject. What we see and hear as reality may or may not be true depending on the state of our consciousness. If so, you should try to see the reality honestly without prejudice and be convinced. Even if we are convinced and understood, it is possible that there may be a wrong response due to biased imprinting, preconceptions, and obsessions.

Originally, language is a tool for specifying and understanding objects. We assign words from visual and auditory information, and we are able to retrieve and ponder related words from our memory for better understanding. Words are just tools. However, it should be used effectively as a tool for introspection. For the time being, I have no choice but to accept what I see and hear, but if I cannot understand it even if I accept it as words, it will remain uncertain and the same as darkness. Humans are not only nervous but also conflicted in darkness. So how does mental energy work?

If you don't accept the information you get and withdraw into your shell, you will be facing a complicated future in the dark. As a basis for the direction of the future, we will need wisdom from conscience that can question common sense. Functions in the brain are common to human beings regardless of language differences. To broaden your mind and deepen your spirit, always ask questions that are not swayed by language and common sense. Between the limits of language as a tool and the perception of the brain, and considering the work of the mental energy that works there, it should lead to a deeper spirituality.

Relationship Between Language and Brain Recognition

Relationship Between Language and Brain Recognition

Introduction

In our daily lives, we speak words without being conscious of them, and we hear the words of others. It's only natural for us to hear and speak words, and we think about things with words in our heads, and we complain and think to ourselves about things to do today, how to have fun, etc. Our life and language are inextricably linked. When we are hungry and the word “Warm Foods'' comes to mind, we imagine a vivid image of a steaming dish of foods. Because we can use words, we can indulge in memories by recalling past impressions. This is because memories linked to words in the brain expand associations.

For example, imagine an apple in your mind as a verbal object. It is not the characters “a”, “p'', “p'', “l'', and “e'' represented by symbols, but the image of apples as fruits, the types of apples you want to eat, delicious cooking methods, and the emotions that accompany them. They totally should come to mind. The word "apple" there is a tool for communicating and thinking, not the object itself. When you use the word "apple", you are consciously identifying the object in relation to the surroundings, and you cannot understand the other relationships just by hearing the word. If there are people who don't know "apple", they may not see it as an object. If you don't consciously try to recognize an unknown object, it won't remain in your brain's memory. Words give certain meanings to symbols and sounds, and are formed by replacing objects with those symbols and sounds. That is why they are symbols and sounds of universally accepted rules that are understood by those around them so that they can identify the meaning of the object. In other words, words are symbols that combine syllables and are used as tools, and what we receive in our brains is more complicated and accompanied by various recognition.

What is brain recognition?

You know that there are many things that cannot be expressed in words. For example, there are ways to say things like being so moved that you can't put it into words, or fear that you can't express. Even if you try to express your feelings to others, you may get frustrated because the words don't get through. It is possible to imagine the scenery that impressed you or reproduce it in a painting, but it is difficult to express the impression itself in words. When the feeling of fulfillment from being touched by something dominates my heart, I can't put it into words. Also, even if I explain in detail how I was moved, the emotion itself cannot be expressed in words. In my brain concerned, the corresponding words do not come out of memory, as if the area in charge of the brain is different. Even if you have an image or feeling in your head, if you can't express it in words, you can't convey it to others.

As an another example that cannot be put into words, there are things that you learn by watching, imitating rather than conveying them in words like craftsmanship. It is to learn subtle differences and sensory techniques that cannot be expressed in words through repeated experiences. Acquisition through experience through trial and error can be considered as a basic correspondence between our consciousness and the limbic system.

I have heard that personal experiences such as enlightenment and the quiet sensation of self-awakening cannot be expressed in words. It is somewhat understandable that something like the state of enlightenment is a self-contained feeling, and there are no words to express it.

Also, when you are suddenly surprised, instead of thinking and acting in words, you may act unconsciously in response to sudden events. When expressing explosive emotions such as joy or sadness, they may become meaningless words like screams.

On the other hand, I have also heard that the entire work comes to mind in an instant, such as when designing a novel or painting, or composing music. Thinking about these unspeakable situations, the language constructed with words may not keep up with the level of our brains. Alternatively, the brain may be a three-dimensional structure rather than a two-dimensional structure like language transmission. In other words, the unspeakable situation is thought to be beyond words in the brain. For this reason, I would like to consider that there is a structural difference between verbal comprehension and brain recognition.

Thinking of Recognition in Brain Cells as a Dimension

As an attempt here, I would like to apply the relationship between understanding as words and recognition in the brain to the concept of dimension. As an example, when applying a word to the object A, the presence or absence of the word corresponding to A is a one-dimensional event.

Next, in the case of causality that there is A because there is B, or when an object in a situation is named with the word A, if all A has the attribute B, then the relationship between A and B is two-dimensional.

The words themselves are regulated by the grammar of the language, so they communicate with each other. In a one-to-one relationship with an object, words generally have a relationship of "If A then B", which is a two-dimensional relationship. However, even in the case of A then B (two-dimensional recognition), it is assumed that there is also a case where A is not B (two-dimensional recognition). Here is a leap of thought that allows you to think vice versa at the same time. If the nerve cells of the brain are thinking and combining such leaps in various situations, then a three-dimensional structure can be considered.

In other words, when brain cells receive a signal as a language from a sensory organ, they either receive the meaning of the signal as it is two-dimensional recognition, or they include the parts that are unsatisfactory while considering the linkage with various memories. There is a difference between two-dimensional and three-dimensional recognition while receiving. Here, we assume that the brain understands language in two stages. One is a two-dimensional relationship, for example, recognition like looking at letters written on a piece of paper, or hearing words as a sequence of sounds as they are.

On the other hand, there must be a three-dimensional recognition based on various linkages, including the relationship with the mental image that the brain that has grown as a human being has, and the bias due to the physiological functions of the brain and the genetic direction of cells. There can be situations in which the brain consolidates all these things.

Three-dimensional recognition is a feeling of fulfillment in the mind, including the body's reaction to moving scenes, and the overall concept of a literary work comes to mind all at once. In addition, the ability to instantly come up with answers to complex mental calculations without any progress, and the ability to sympathize with the harmony of the whole when listening to the sound of a symphony.

It means that the brain perceives as a three-dimensional understanding in such situations. Hence, there is reason to believe that the three-dimensional perception of brain cells has a higher dimension than the two-dimensional perception of information from the sense organs. In other words, verbal recognition alone does not keep up with the functions of neurons in the brain.

The neurons and glial cells that make up the cerebrum have a three-dimensional structure, and there is a combination of transmission and reception by physiological signals that are not electromagnetic waves or sound waves. Considering this, it is possible that the two-dimensional understanding that applies one word to an object is not the same as the brain's understanding. In other words, it is possible that the association of verbal memories that circulates in our heads is not an essential understanding in the brain by itself.

In the direction in which life became human, it is certain that the flow was in the development of the cerebrum, and the organ called the brain has become considerably complicated. It can be predicted that the degree of comprehension of words in electromagnetic waves and sound waves received from the sense organs is not reached yet the range of comprehension in the cerebrum. On the other hand, language is a two-dimensional connection of “cause and effect” based on grammatical rules and conventions. And how the three-dimensional brain understands the words should differ depending on individuality.

For example, when you think of an object with the word "apple", the two-dimensional object can only be the mental image of "apple", but for the receiving individuality, the taste of likes and dislikes, the type and smell associated with it, and the recipes of cooking, etc. There are various collaborations such as this, and it is accompanied by a three-dimensional spread. However, when people interact with each other, the exchange of three-dimensional thoughts in each brain can only be done through two-dimensional language.

Assuming that humankind continues to develop, in terms of the relationship between language and the brain, will language expand to include other people's feelings, or will it acquire a way to understand without using language? I am very interested in the future direction of the cerebrum.

Relationship Between Language and Spirit

Relationship Between Language and Spirit

Introduction

In our daily lives, we often have dissatisfaction and delusions in our minds without telling anyone, and think about this and that. Even if you don't speak the words and make them sound, you have words and images in your head. From the time you wake up to the time going to bed, every day you fill your head with words without realizing it. But this did not happen just overnight. It is said that human beings evolved gradually over a long period of time after the first life-bearing cells appeared on the earth. Archaeological fossil research results show that the traits of living species gradually changed and progressed through the acquisition of more advanced bodily functions. The big difference between humans and the apes that preceded them is the establishment of upright bipedal locomotion and the development of the cerebrum, and humans obtained by enabling fine control over the generation of voices in the throat. The language is not only a tool for communicating intentions, but a medium for thinking in the head. Although we speak different languages in the world, we are able to communicate verbally on a global level, and we collaborate on various inventions and discoveries to develop various tools.

It can be said that human beings are currently prospering, covering the earth. However, even in the recent news, regional conflicts, poverty and hunger have not stopped, and there are many things that make us think that we are still at an underdeveloped stage. Since the phenomenon of evolution in living things has been going on for billions of years, it cannot end at the current stage of humanity, humans like that we are now. Therefore, I would like to think a little about the relationship between language and the spirit that human beings have acquired, including consideration of what will happen to us human beings in the future.

Words are a collection of signals that the brain interprets.

When we notice letters and voices with our eyes and ears, we immediately know that they are words. When it is recognized as a word, the brain treats the series of sounds and symbols as a word and interprets the meaning from the connection with memory. Let's take a closer look at this point. First, when we are aware of the language object in front of us, brain cells perceive light stimulation to the retina of the eye and sound waves captured by the eardrum of the ear through nerve cells. The information received by the brain is not the electromagnetic wave or sound wave itself like a camera or recorder. Our brains and sensory organs are limited by the structure of our bodies, and receive information as signal information that can be handled by our brains and neural pathways, rather than as it is in the real world. The images we see and the sounds we hear are translated into nerve cell signals. In other words, the brain interprets a collection of sound and electromagnetic signals as meaningful words. When we hear and understand the content of a conversation, it means that the sound waves that enter our sense organs are captured as words, converted into signals in the neural pathways, and the meaning of those words is recognized by the brain from the signal information. There, specific sequences of sounds are given meaning by matching information stored in brain cells.

People have their own individuality, so there must be differences in the recognition of words.

If we interpret the sequence of sounds and letters as words, the degree of understanding should differ from person to person, even if the sense organs recognize them via the brain. In other words, there should be individual differences in the understanding of words and differences to the extent that prejudices are mixed in the content. Certainly, as a result, language is interpreted in the brain, so it should be the same mechanism in the anatomical meaning of human beings. However, languages themselves are diverse, and it is conceivable that each individual's understanding of each word in a variety of languages varies somewhat. And the important thing is that the understanding of words means that you are interpreting them in a way that is convincing to you in relation to yourself. In other words, we interpret what we see and hear based on the process of applying it to our own memory and understanding it. Therefore, we do not always confirm that we have properly understood the words in our own heads.

In addition, it is also possible that we react with conditioned reflexes and prejudices in our nerve fiber pathways. In some cases, we may not notice the difference in understanding of the language and convince ourselves, "That's right, I understand." We think about this and that, but in reality we accumulate them in our memories without judging whether they are the correct interpretations or not. Therefore, if we are conscious of something different from the interpretation in our memory, we will notice the difference in understanding of words and our own prejudices. When we are conscious of such differences, the interpretations of cooperating words become more diverse than before, and the breadth of understanding expands.

Functions as words

When we think about the function of words, there are functions as an external tool that communicates one's thoughts and feelings to others and cooperates with society, and a function as an internal tool that supports thinking in the mind. When it comes to communicating with the outside world, we can communicate our situation through words and obtain information from others. We use language as a tool of communication to create a social infrastructure where we can exchange detailed information. And it enables us to work together to enrich our lives. As humankind spreads over a wide area on the earth, languages have diversified, but translation between languages is possible and meaning can be communicated. Therefore, even if there are some differences in individuality, the understanding based on the physiological brain, which is common to all human beings, is the same.

From the desire to live there developed the desire for knowledge. And the desire for knowledge enriches the human inner world. We are different from animals who are trapped only by the desire to live. We observe our surroundings with interest, and we have named and distinguished them. We apply words even to objects that are not material in our minds. We are now in a position to count on the intelligence and decency to support that new desire. Certainly, humans have physiological and psychological limits in perception. However, with the development of various tools, we came to notice a number of questions while performing compensation beyond that limit. As a result, the consciousness of recognizing the object is rising. Thus, by being able to question common sense, we should be able to broaden our thirst for knowledge in terms of perception or cognition, and deepen our thinking and introspection.

From words to spirit, and its limits

On the other hand, words have an aspect as an active function, and words themselves can influence actions. When we are faced with a difficult situation to act on, we think of countermeasures in our minds and motivate ourselves to take action. In other words, justify your actions with words and suppress the feeling of rebellion and put them into action. It is like the spirit that motivates action. It is a manifestation of mankind's introspection by manipulating language in the development of the cerebrum. Not only does it have an automatic desire to live, but it actively thinks in words and acts with the desire for a fulfilling future. In other words, with this spirit, you can have a sense of fulfillment by thinking for yourself and acting on your own will. In spite of such a lofty spirit, we often find ourselves struggling with dissatisfaction while being smothered in our own greed.

We are part of the existence of life, and in its flow individual death is unavoidable. Even if there are things you want to do in your lifetime, you can't do them all. Then, what is the position of each of us in the big flow and how is it related to the flow of life? Is it enough to simply reproduce and leave offspring? So, what kind of work are the various "ties" that force us to do? Can we escape from that compulsion? However, with the mysterious action of the mind, words can be combined into stimulating motives that can be translated into self-fulfilling actions. With this self-willed mind, one can be satisfied with one's actions, regardless of the consequences.

When we think, we have words and images in our minds. There is coordination of signals in the three-dimensional structure of neurons in the brain. Language is understood through the exchange of signals, and it has reached the point of introspection to better understand the world around us through language. And there is spiritual energy. In other words, deep and complex mentality seems to be related to the degree of depth of word association in introspection. Therefore, the various connections between the words we are thinking and reflecting on, such as replacing them with words that can be explained in more detail or applying them to specific examples, should correspond to the depth of our spirit.

However, when thinking about the meaning of the word "specifying an object by name", it is necessary to be careful because simply pointing out the object with words can lead to thinking that the object has been understood. We are often satisfied with named objects because we can distinguish them by knowing their names. However, the meaning of “knowing'' lies in understanding the essence of the object itself, which is meant by words, rather than being deceived simply by replacing it with words. In the spirit of a thirst for knowledge, I believe that the question "Why?" is important because it contains causality beyond words. In the beginning of humanity, consciousness, which is clearly self-aware, includes a mechanism for self-awareness as it expands its object to things other than itself. By introspecting and deepening the mechanism that exists there, it is expected that it will be an opportunity to create connections that transcend language and thought.

This story will be connected to the next time.
