My boyfriend took me to an Indian restaurant in downtown. We had Chiken Tikka Masala and Chiken ??? Madras. (I am not sure the name...) The latter curry was originally spicy and we asked the former one to make spicy. Both of them were tooooo hot.

Today I went to a farewell party for one of my Japanese friends. He was a professor at a Japanese college. He was at Penn for one year on his sabbatical leave. It was a potluck party and I was assigned to make salad. When I went to his room with salmon and potato salad, there was a lot of food that we could never finish. We ate, drank and chatted till late at night.

This morning I arrived at Philadelphia. Utah was a beautiful place which had a lot of nature. The big difference between Utah and Philadelphia (I have not traveled Pennsylvania yet) was that Utah has less African Americans. I met only a few African Americans during this trip. In philadelphia Black people are all over and in a neighborhood hotel, most employees are African Americans. Partly because Philadelphia is less conservative than Utah.

Today we went to the Mormon temple. There are many Mormon in Utah, but I met some Christians and found a church which was located not very far from the temple. I happened to meet a group of Japanese who were taking a short tour, but I could not join them because I did not have time.
I found more than three wedding couples who were taking pictures outside of the temple.

We went to an "all-you-can-eat restaurant" for dinner. There were a lot of steak, salmon, salad, soup, and dessert. It was 10 dollars per person. Very reasonable. There were many big size customers... After that, we went to a cowboy bar. In Utah I saw some people wearing a cowboy hat. Here in the bar I found five people wearing a cowboy hat.
The band was playing country music, but people were dancing a ball dance and square dance.
I joined dancing when they started a line dance. It was fun!

We stayed at a motel and came back to the Arches Natioanl Park. For the motel, it cost 40 dollars for a room of two big beds. For the National Park, it was 10 dollars for one car and a ticket was valid for a week. We hiked to a big arch. The scenery was gorgeours!

We went to Arches National Park, north of Moab. Arches were formed by wind and rain erosion on Sandstone. The arch of the picture is called, Delicate Arch. I liked it best. On the way back, I met a bunch of Japanese students from Kato Gakuen, numazu city. They were 1st grade high school students and came to Utah for an English program.

Today we went skiing! The ski resort that we went was huge! It had more than 30 slopes and slopes were loooooong. They were separated into three colors, green (the easiest), blue (more difficult), and black (the most difficult.) It was a nice whether, there were not many people, and I had a great time.

My boyfriend and I arrived at the airport around 3am! His mother and younger brother picked us up. I was so sorry for them. We took a nap and went to the airport to pick up two other couples. They came from Philly and Oregon. I met the couple from Oregon five months ago. It was great to see them again.
Today I fired a gun for the first time in my life. I shot bottles with a pistol and a rifle. The pistol made an incredibly big sound when it was fired. It was very difficult for me to aim the pistol at a bottle, but I could break some bottles.

I finished the last mid-term exam yesterday and the last class today before spring break. The spring break starts from 5th and ends on 13th. I studied very hard and could not sleep enough for these two weeks. So I am very happy to have spring break now! I am going to Utah State tomorrow by plane to spend whole spring break there.

Today I dined at a Japanese restaurant, a few blocks away from my dorm. My boyfriend and I ordered "All You Can Eat Sushi." It was about $20 each excluded tax and tips. I ate a lot until I felt sick... Nigirizushi was okay and makizushi especially American style roll sushi (California Roll) was great!! It had a lot of varieties and was VERY different from Japanese makizushi. For example, a spicy tuna was inside.
