って云うモノがあったんですね。
PerlMol is a collection of Perl modules for chemoinformatics and computational
chemistry with the philosophy that "simple things should be simple".
It should be possible to write one-liners that use this toolkit to do
meaningful "molecular munging".
The PerlMol toolkit provides objects and methods for representing molecules,
atoms, and bonds in Perl; doing substructure matching;
and reading and writing files in various formats.

ケモインフォマティクスと計算化学のためのPerlモジュール群である。
意味のある"分子の書き換えを行う"には、このツールキットを使えば、１行で書ける。
PerlMolツールキットは、Perlを使って、分子、原子とその結合を表したり、
構造のマッチングを行ったり、さまざまな形式のファイルの読み書きを行う場合、
の為のオブジェクトやメソッドを提供する。
より詳細な機能説明については、「Features」セクションを参照されたし。

“Perl”＋“chemistry”となると、ワクワク**2 です。
「さまざまな形式のファイルの読み書きを行う」ってことは、
「OpenBabel」のような形式変換を行うスクリプトが書ける？
