義援金の手続き終えた後、夏の夜空を見上げながら自転車を漕いでいました。星々が雲の隙間から見え隠れしていました。一日も早く復興されることをお祈り致します。
今回紹介する曲はFlorence and The Machine の「Cosmic Love」です。
2009年リリースされたデビューアルバム「Lungs 」に収録されています。ちなみに「Lungs 」は「肺」です。彼らの作品も個人的に大好きです。彼らは単純な感情を感じさせてくれません。思考と作風が常に私たち人間の一歩先を歩いているような感じなんですよね。フローレンスの人間離れした表現力と佇まいにも惹かれます。
フローレンスが主に詞を書いてます。彼女の詞も和訳が困難な時がありまして、解釈と理解は出来るのですが日本語で彼女の思想を残したまま表現するのが難しい。
Florence and The Machine に限らずですが和訳する上で悩むのが、日本語で表現しようすると合致する言葉がなかったり、文字の羅列にアート性が無くなってしまうこと。
この曖昧で微妙な差を肉付けで表現しようとするけど、楽曲の主旨から脱線しては意味がないし。もうここは漢字で使い分けるしかないな(笑)
この楽曲は曲構成も素晴らしいです。言葉に沿うようにサウンドが織り成されています。もうひとつの立派な物語です。出だしは星が空から落ちてくるような音から始まり、心拍音(鼓動)を表現したベースドラムに続きます。(この楽曲は鼓動音が大きなテーマでもあります)
そしてラストのイントロに星が宇宙の空で弾ける音が聴こえます。これは鼓動が弾けると同じ意でしょう。弾けた星(鼓動)が流れ星となり我らの頭上に降りてくる。
言葉の方では、この行程の中で繰り広げられる彼(人かは不明)への想いの物語があります。衝撃からぐらつき、そして行き着く所は無限の愛。
ちょっとこの情景を頭の中に描きながら和訳を楽しんでいたけたらと思います。
This song “Cosmic Love” is in “Lungs” in 2009 released. I really like them.They doesn’t let me feel the simple emotions.I feel like Their philosophy and style are always a step ahead of us.And It is charm the expression power separated by humans and figure in Florence Welch.
I think this sound is organized marvelous elements.It is interwoven parallel with words. I guess this song is a great tale. This tale is started the murmuring like a falling star.After then,The base drums that expresses heartbeats continues in this tale.The heartbeats is a important element in this. In last chapter, It sounds bursting star in the cosmos.I imagine it has the same meaning as a heartbeat bursts. A bursted star (heartbeat) to be shooting star, and falls on our head.
When I focus on the lyrics, The feelings for someone(or something) unrolled in these sound process. On impact, transformed vacillation,and it finally reach the infinity.I interpret it is “An Eudaemonic in the darkness “.
