At a press briefing on July 15, U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Nicholas Mayorkas said that the Secret Service was upgraded in protection for Trump, in response to the assassination-attempt on former President D. Trump.
He also said that security was beefed up for the Republican National Convention, which was kicked off on July 15.

He explaine that it would provide "appropriate security" to U.S. Senator James David Vance too, who is the Republican vice presidential candidate.
An independent investigation into the case, which was ordered by President Joe Biden to relevant institutions, will be kicked off within a few days.
Biden also allegedly ordered security for lawyer Robert Kennedy Jr., who is running as an independent in the presidential election.
