正確性と精密性
正確度とは、正確性accurateness の程度（度合い）であり、精〔確〕度とは、精密性〔精確性〕precisenessの程度のことである。
accuracy = the degee of accurateness
precision = the degee of preciseness
その前に、scopeを定義しておこう。
"The scope of a natural phenomenon is defined as the ratio of the upper to the lower limit, or equivalently, the ratio of the outer to inner scale, or of extent to grain." (Schneider 1994: 112)。
「自然現象の射程〔作用域 scope。scopeは、強引に射程で統一したいが無理か〕は、上限の下限に対する比として定義される。」（199505試訳）。
「あるいは等価的に、外側のスケール〔尺度〕の内側のスケールに対する比として、あるいは広がりの粒度に対する比として定義される。」
三番目の「広がりの粒度に対する比」は、その前の二つと異なると思うのだが。
Schneider (1994: 115) に、二次元のscope diagram 射程略図が載っている。対数目盛りの軸に、4種の鳥類について（つまり、それらの種類に属する生物体について）、観測した数値の範囲を、楕円で示している。横軸は移動距離（単位はm）、縦軸は渡りにかかった時間（単位はdays）を示している。
測定の射程 the scope of a mesurementとは、
"The scope of a measurement is the ratio of the magnitude of a measurement to its precision." (Schneider 1994: 112)
「或る測定の射程とは、或る測定の大きさの、その精密度に対する、比である。」（試訳）。
では、正確性と精密性との違いはなんだろうか。
