２００９年１月２１日付の司教聖省の教令の日本語訳をご紹介します。バチカンの公式のイタリア語、フランス語、英語を参考にして、イタリア語原文に近づけて英語から訳し出しました。

ベルナール・フェレー司教は、１９８８年６月３０日に聖別されたその他の３名の司教たちの名前にもおいて、教皇庁立委員会エクレジア・デイ委員長ダリオ・カストゥリヨン・オヨス枢機卿に出された２００８年１２月１５日の手紙によって、１９８８年７月１日にこの聖省長官の教令によって公式に（formalmente）宣言された伴事的破門の撤回を新たに求めた。上記の手紙においてフェレー司教は、その他のことのなかでも、次のように断言している。「私たちは、カトリックとして留まることそして、私たちの主イエズス・キリストの教会、すなわちこれはローマ・カトリック教会でありますが、私たちの全ての努力をこの教会の奉仕のために使うことを、私たちの意志において常に確固として決意しています。私たちはその教えを忠孝の態度で受け入れます。私たちはペトロの首位権とその特権を固く信じ、このために現在の状況は私たちを多く苦しめています。」
ベネディクト十六世教皇聖下は、相手側によって明らかにされた破門の制裁のための霊的不都合（disagio）を父として感じ取り、上述の手紙において彼らによって表明された、まだ開かれている事柄についての聖座の当局と必要な話し合い（colloqui）を深めていく如何なる努力も惜しまないということを信頼し、起源において置かれた問題の、短期間で十全な満足のいく解決を達成するために、ベルナール・フェレー司教、ベルナール・ティシエ・ド・マルレ司教、リチャード・ウィリアムソン司教、およびアルフォンソ・デ・ガラレタ司教が、彼らの司教聖別とともに生じた教会法上の状況を再考することを決意した。
この発布（atto）により、信頼の相互関係を堅め、聖ピオ十世会と使徒座との関係の強化し、それに安定性をあたえることが望まれる。クリスマスの祝祭の終わりにおいて、この平和の賜物は、普遍の教会の愛徳における一致を促進し、分裂の醜聞を消し去ろうとする印となることも目ざしている。
目に見える一致の証拠とともに、教導権と教皇の権威への真の忠誠と真の認証を証することにより、この段階の後、素早い聖ピオ十世会の教会との完全な交わりを達成することが続くと期待される。
