松井秀は、ヤンキース残留を希望しているが、ヤンキースは残留の場合は、今の年俸の半分程度（しかも１～2年の短期契約）を提示してくると思われるので、これに対し、松井秀が受けるかどうか。

アリーグの他チームなら、ＤＨとして十分に四番を打て、高い年俸を提示してくると思われる。その時が松井の決断時。

ヤンキースに限らず、力の衰えた選手に対する年俸の提示は、極端に低い。
