文明のターンテーブルThe Turntable of Civilization

日本の時間、世界の時間。
The time of Japan, the time of the world

I can't even begin to describe how childish and stupid the Japanese media is

The following is an unfinished manuscript.
The number of new infections in the US as of 7/8/2021 is 23,130.
The average for the week is 16,208.
On the same day, the number of newly infected people in Japan was 2,246.
The average number for the week does not show up in the search, but the fact that it is less than 2,246 is obvious.
The population of Japan is about one-third that of the United States.
It means that the number of new infections in the US is about 30% higher than in Japan.
Today's major league baseball game was a must-see for major league baseball fans: the Padres vs. the Nationals, with Darvish and Scherzer pitching against each other.
The game took place at Petro Park in San Diego, home of the Padres.
As of July 1, Major League Baseball has lifted restrictions on spectators.
Baseball as a "national pastime" is back in full swing.
I had some business to attend to in the morning, so I watched only the third inning and recorded the rest.
Darvish was having a bad day and left the game in the third inning.
When I got home and watched the recording, I was surprised.
Scherzer suddenly went off his game in the fourth inning and gave up two runs on a series of walks and dead balls.
With two outs and the bases loaded, the pitcher (a rookie) relieved Darvish came to bat.
He hit a low fastball to the right-field bleachers.
It was a grand slam home run.
After that, it tied the game, and it erased Darvish's loss of seven runs in three innings.
In addition, the Padres won in the bottom of the ninth inning.
It was a game that truly lived up to the saying, "Baseball is a drama without a plot.
It was a pleasant time for Padres fans.

I can't even begin to describe how childish and stupid the Japanese media is.
The childishness and stupidity of the Japanese politicians who are dragged into this kind of thing or use it to their advantage are also beyond description.
The following is an excerpt from a chapter that appeared in July 2010 as "The Turntable of Civilization.
Preamble omitted.
It is a tragedy that we did not realize that it had turned the turntable of civilization in Japan more than 30 years ago.
And the mass media, which wielded a foolish sense of justice without realizing the truth and created Japan's lost 20 years, bears a heavy responsibility.
A hegemonic nation is supposed to last for 200 years.
It is absurd to say that Japan's era is over.
Japan must continue to prosper for another 170 years as a super-economic power that stands tall with or complements the United States.
(This is ironic.) Japan, which has renounced all armed forces except for the right of self-defense in its Constitution, should leave the armed forces to the United States and continue to prosper in the economy.
Why has Japan stagnated for the past 20 years?
It was the media and politics have failed with their mental age of 13.
Japan is an industrialized country with the world's highest personal wealth of 1,500 trillion yen. Thanks to the world's best companies exposed to innovation and competition every day, it has developed world-class technologies in various fields and has a significant market share.
Omission.

Today's Sankei Shimbun editorial on the "no spectators" at the Olympics is a significant blunder, and the fourth and final declaration of a state of emergency is a good argument.
