New Tote

Her name is Sherry who made it for me.
I've been hoping to have a new tote of L.L.Bean.
This series of tote are made for carrying ice.
So it is tough and able to stand by itself.
To carry a CD player and CD, it is nice and protective.

My favorite color is usually "Blue".
So I picked up this blue, pool blue from their catalog.
But it was not in their stock in Japan.
It came all over from Maine State of the USA,

Thank you Sherry、 and staffs who took care of sending it.
Every time when I got a new catalog, I am excited to open pages.
Please keep "mail order" system for us.

Slack Line in Sanosaka Ski Area

Sanosaka Ski Area(SSA) was struggling to get an idea for new event.
Last 2 seasons, they were suffered from small amount of snow.
In this season, luckily they have enough snow.
But most of guests drive through SSA.
Because people expect stable stage of snow in the north area.

SSA thought and thought and suddenly met the representative of SLLO.
Slack Line Lovers in Omachi (SLLO) was founded last year.
And SLLO keep doing their activities and events since.
They discussed what they can do together in February.
At the same time, SLLO asked Obuse Team if they could join or not.
Since it was sudden request, SLLO did not expect Obuse could.

Believe or not, Obuse Team will be free at the last day of holidays.
So the plan has been going fast and coming the event real.
Here is the date and time for the collaboration event.

February 12th Monday at Sanosaka Ski Area.
Front yard of the rest-house: 10:00 - 14:30.

10:30/12:00/13:30
There is the World Champion and other professional riders.
There are also some young riders who just started performance.
You will witness the highest techniques and tricks.
And you enjoy some basic techniques and falls.

You can challenge it!
Reception: from 10:00 in order of arrival.
1)Long and High Line Challenge.(from 11:30)
Experienced attendees are recommended.
When you walk through the whole distance, you get a gift.

2)Low Line: How long you can stay?(from 14:00)
There are some rigid lines.
You and another attendee try to stand up on the line.
As long as possible, you keep standing.
Winner will get a gift.

Experience 10:00 - 14:30
They are planning to have 2 long lines for beginners.
Those lines will be divided by some boards.
So everyone can try and enjoy Slack Line.

Have snow jacket and warm shoes with flat soles.
It is walkable from the parking lot.
Why don't you come and join us.

Matsuba-ya Inn

This building was the symbol of "Modern Style",
when it has been built up in old time.
The red roof which has a spire on the top was a landmark of Omachi.
This inn was closed with some reasons for a while.

Now Matsuba-ya is open again for a casual inn.
On a sign at the front door says "Guest House".
The price to stay with no meals is 3000 yen per night.

Attractive points of this Inn are the outside, inside,
and Japanese Style rooms, I guess.
It is possible to go up to the dome and see around this city.
This place was used to watch enemy aircraft flying during WWII.
Consequently, no attack was observed.
But it is easy to imagine how high people's wariness was.

Anyway, this inn is reborn now.
After you come to Omachi by a train,
please stay at this inn for first day.
It makes you naturalize in highland environment.
Next morning, you will take a bus to Ogisawa.

In this area, you will find many restaurants and Izakaya.
Convenient store is at the north of arcade.
Enjoy staying in Omachi.

J-Alert was announced

Just before 6:00 am, J-Alert was announced in North Japan.
From Hokkaido to Nagano Pre., the discord siren rang out.
You should check your mobile phone or TV in that case.
Within 10 minutes, the missile was split into 3 objects.
And they fell into the Pacific Ocean 1180 km away form Cape Erimo.

North Korea keeps shooting a lot of missiles this year.
But it was the first time that a missile flew over the land of Japan.
Japanese government shows a deep concern about it.
Soon Prime minister Abe has strongly condemned the action of DPRK.

All JR lines were stopped in 10 minutes.
But now they all started their normal time schedule.

When you found something doubtful object, please call Police.
You do not want to get close or touch the object.
When you hear the siren, go into a buildings or an underground.

We just keep crossing our fingers to pray no more missiles from DPRK.

Slack-line Lovers in Omachi

Originally Slack-line has come from the USA.
And this sports has been spreading in Japan last decade.
Obuse City, Nagano Pre. is now the synonym of Slack-line.
There are some young Champions and young candidates already.
A little later, we have a group of slack-line here.

The name,"Slack-line Lovers in Omachi" was founded this April.
Their activities are regular(3 times a week) and irregular.
Irregular events are usually invited by another groups.
For example, they went to Park Opening event or Onsen-kyo festival.

You can come and join them whenever they have an event.
You just sign up and hop on a line for free.
Low line is always set up for beginners.
And there are some fitness lines which is assemble at the site.
Fitness Line is about 2 m length and 20 cm high for younger kids.
They sometimes set a high line for jumping and trick.

At the end of September, they plan to have a big event with Obuse.
Those young Champions will come and perform their tricks.
The detail is now discussed by these 2 groups.
