I watched a movie of Kurosawa, "To Live", "Ikiru" in Japanese. I may have watched some Kurosawa's movies like "Seven Samurai" when I was a kid, but I don't remember anything. I'm sure that I watched this film for the first time. It was GREAT! I became a big fan of him. I'll go to a library to see his other movies!

Hello, konichi-wa

I believe "Ikiru" is the most wonderful, deeply moving movie I have ever seen in my (fairly long) life, and the actor who plays the bureaucrat is the greatest actor I have ever watched. Have you seen any of this actor's other movies? Can you recommend any? Did Kurosawa use him in other movies?

As you can guess, I don't know Japanese. Can you help me with a Small Favor? Does this

黒澤明

mean "Kurosawa"?

I am writing a blog entry about Kurosawa and his films.

Thanks!

Hi! I am glad to hear that you also liked the movie. I looked for movies which same actors starred, but I could not find. Recently I watched another Kurosawa movie, the throne of blood. That was great, too.

黒澤 is Kurosawa (family name) and 明 is Akira (first name).
