Trav's Friday Update

Happy Friday to everyone in Starry land 

It's me, Travis sensei again. How is your Friday so far?

Wow, it's hot today hu? I sure am enjoying my bicycle ride to Starry from home much better. No (sports) long underweare under my jeans anymore  Yahoo  

OH, did I tell you? I have to move out of my apartment. The mountain behind me is not safe. The city has to take down my apartment building and make a new retaining wall.... I dont want to move, I love my Ohyasan so much. 

Well, at Starry the new reading program has started and we have lots of new students joining lately too. Also, if you notice outside in the planter boxes, I have transplanted the seeds and they are going ok...well, except the cucumbers. They are not doing too well.

P.s. I have attached an old picture of me teaching Burmese orphans in Thailand after the Christmas 2004 tsunami. Remember, I moved from Japan to volunteer there 2 years. Oh, I look so young and handsom. Nice memories for me 

英検の講習会がスタートしました★

今週から６月の試験に向けて、英検４級、準２級の講習会が始まりました

 

今回の準２級はほとんどが新中３生。

まだ３級レベルの文法も学校で習いきっていません。

今週のレッスンでは３年生で習う現在完了形、高校で習う現在完了進行形、

過去完了形、過去完了進行形、それに受動態を足したものを教えました。

始めは四苦八苦していましたが、ひとつひとつ問題を解きながら説明していくと、

全員が「お俺分かったわ簡単じゃん」と。

私も割と苦労した文法なのに・・・

あっさりと小一時間でマスターするSTARRY KIDSはさすがだなと思いました

 

試験まであと７週間！ぼーっとしているとあっという間。

４級のお友だちも、準２級のお友だちも一日一日を無駄にせず、コツコツ頑張って合格を目指そうね
