【 Well, I'll talk about the rest story. 】

仕事探しも３週間を越え

【 It was over 3 weeks to look for job at that time.  】

追い討ちをかけるような出来事が

【 Unfortunately, befell me one after another. 】

普段、あまり怒らない私がイライラ

【 I was irritated it is unusually for me. 】

ははは、それもエドモントンで日本人に

【  and that was at one of Japanese in Edmonton. 】

私より年下の女の子に馬鹿にされてしまったのです

【 She is younger than me and makes a fool of me.oh 】

内心怒り心頭ですが

【 I was inwardly anger at her. 】

実際私は、何も優れる事が無かったので撃沈

【 But, I couldn't say anything at that time cause, when I didn't have good point more than her. It is true. 】

そして、その事が思いっきり情緒不安定へ

【 And then, That made me negative feeling completely. 】

そのあと、久しぶりにドライブ

【 After that, I had a drive for a long time 】

何か考える時、自分の部屋かドライブしてるときなので

【 when I am thinking about something that I'm in my room or my car as driving.】

結局２時間ガソリンタンク半分くらい使い（笑）

【 I spend 2 hours and half oil of tank of my car after all. lol 】

それで、ふと気が付いたんです！！

【 and then, suddenly I got it !! 】

面接の質問の意味も

【 What's the meaning about question form manager. 】

年下の女の子に馬鹿にされた理由も

【 Why did she shame me ? 】

いままで不思議に思っていた事も

【 and before I had lots of question about strange things but I got it !! 】

今では女の子に感謝してます

【 I appreciate her shaming. lol 】

 

彼女はカナダへ来て数年日本でもカナダでも大学や専門学校へは行ったことなく

【 She came to Edmonton several years ago and never went to collage or vocational school either of Canada and Japan. 】

レストランで仕事をずっとしてます

【 She work in restaurant all the while. 】

私より、ずっとずっと態度が大きく

【 She has too salef-assertive more than me. 】

私より、ずっとずっと声が大きく

【 She has loud voice more than me. 】

私より、ずっとずっと英語が出来ると自信もあり

【 She has self-confidence about speeking English very well more than me. 】

私より、ずっとずっと仕事ができると自信をもっています

【 She has self-confidence about good job more than me. 】

以上【 That's all 】

そして、事実彼女は今もレストランで仕事をしています

【 And, she is still working in the restaurant reality. 】

学歴は？職歴はレストランだけだよね？

【 How about her educational background?  

 How about experience, is that only restaurant? 】

英語が出来るって基準はなに？？

【 What's the standard about speeking Englsih very well. 】

そう、彼女にとってそんな事は関係ないようです！！

【 Therefore, she doesn't care about that. 】

 

でもね、これが私を納得させたんです！！

【 but, but, That gave me make sense form that happen.!! 】

面接してくれた、マネージャーはこれを求めてるんだって

【 Lot's of manager want like that. 】

彼らは私のスキルについて質問したんじゃなく、

【 They didn't ask my skill by their question. 】

自信のある態度、やる気のある返事が欲しかったんだと

【 They were looking for my confidence and motivation form my heart. 】

職種によってもちろん違いますが

【 That depends each job but 】

レストランなどのお仕事の面接では

【 In restaurant, when you have an interview. 】

私はします！！とかって返事でいいんだと

【 "I can do that" this is the best auswer. 】

そこに、理由なんていらないのだと

【 and, don't need exact reasons. 】

その時、日本の法則に縛られている自分に気が付きました

【 Then I realized that I was hampered Japanese custom. 】

日本では働く前から出来ますとか、やりますとか

【 Japanese pepole usually don't say "I can do that" "I do" before get job from there. 】

あまり自ら言わないですよね？？

【 We don't say it ourself. 】

自己主張することがあまり美徳でないそういう環境だから

【 Self-assertion is not really virtue in Japan. I think it's just different custom.：（ 】

 

日本スタイルをカナダですると

【 If you do Japanese style in Canada. 】

本当に出来ない奴だと思われるのが落ちです（笑）

【 They will evalute me can't do that seriously.lol 】

ここで本当に異文化を感じました

【 I feel it is very different coustom. 】

そして、ここでは面接のときここではいつも未来について質問してきます

【 and in an interview. they always ask about future by question in Canada. 】

これできる？何ができる？どうしたい？

【 "Can you do this?""what can you do that?" "what do you want to do?"  】

その時、自信をもって出来ますと答えます、これがしたい！

【 then the answer is "yes, I can"ot " I do something"  】

いつまでに返事くれますか？とかいっぱいこっちから聞きくと印象良かったです。

【 and you can ask them about anything yourself. 】

日本はいつも過去じゃないですか？

【 and in an interview. they always ask about past by question in Japan. 】

これできた？何できた？どうしてきた？

【 "Could you do this?" "What could you do?" "What did you do?" 】

未来よりも過去の行いに筋の通った理由が必要で

【 The past is more important than future in an interview and then need reason about everything if you chenge the way. 】

自信や勝気な気持ちは心の奥に閉まった方がうまく行きやすいし

【 and don't show your-confidence and much proud to them to hide them in your heart. 】

そして、教わる姿勢を前面に出す事が大事なように感じます

【 and show attitude to learn about how to work in there to them. 】

大きな態度に大きな声

【 Assertion and loud voice.  】

根拠はありませんが自信に満ちたような返事

【 there is nothing reason but I need a confidently answer. 】

１００回以上部屋で「I can do that 」　「Yes, I do」って練習しました

(英語の意味は知ってますよ（笑）顔に出やすい性格なのでとっさの時の練習です）

【 I practiced it over 100 times to say just "Yes, I can do that" "Yes, I do".

 ha ha I know about meening  that I mean I practiced it to say reflexively. 】

これを実行すると【 after that I did. 】

なんと、面接の予約が３件でき時間の都合で２つ面接受け

【 then I got 3 appointment but I did 2 interview cause, I didn't have time. 】

２つ採用もらいました＾＾【 after that I got job from 2 restaurants 】

返事が一番早かったレストランで

【 I am working in the most first restaurant to get job. 】

ウェイトレスとホステスを両方しています

【 I am as a waitress and hostess. 】

そして、面接のスタイルは違うものの

【 and it is same custom all of the world that must be honest when working  】

仕事はまじめにするのが世界共通ですよね

【 even if there is a different interview.^^ I have to best !! 】

ワーホリのビザが終了したら【 I will update my paid  】

時給や給料の合計【 when I am done my work permit. 】

チップもアップしようと思います【 and also update about tip. 】

ワーホリ人から見れば聞きたいけど、聞きにくい事だと思うので

【 Because, lot's of working-holiday-maker want to know about that. 】

仕事探し３週目【 The third week, looking for job. 】

初めての面接、ルームメイトに服装を聞いて大体黒ですね

【 It was first time to have an interview. I asked about clothes to my roommate,

 It's same in Canada and Japan. 】

そして、面接　メールで送信したけど履歴書持参したら

【 And, in an interview, I brought my letter cover and Resume again. 】

絶賛！！メールからプリントするの面倒ってね勘が当たり（笑）

【 The manager praised me, when my hunch was right,

 cause it is troublesome for him to print out my resume from his computer.ha ha 】

始めの印象はOK

【 That made a good impression.：） 】

『どんな仕事がしたいですか？』

【 “What type of job are you loking?” 】

『なんでもします』　

【 “Anything !!” 】

『じゃウェイトレスだね』 

【 “Okay waitress is better for you” 】

『はい』

【 “Yes” 】

『ところで何ができるの？』

【 “Well, what can you do in here?” 】

『・・・・？』

【 “・・・・?” 】

何が出来るのって知らないよ！！

【 what does manager want to know by that question?：（？？ 】

教えてくれなきゃ、分かんないよ！！

【 I don't know what can I do in here until you teach me how to work in here. 】

『タッチパネル式のこの機械使える？』

【 “Can you use this machine?” 】

『・・・・するでしょう』

【 “・・・・?......... I will......”  】

教えてくれたら使えるでしょ？

【 I can do that then you teach me. but I don't know right now how to use it  !!!!!  】

何で聞くの？教育なしか？？？

【 Why ask me?? You don't wanna teach me ??? 】

『できるんだよね？』

【 “Can you ?” 】

『あっ。。。はい。。。』

【 “ah,,,,,Yes............” 】

教えてくれなくちゃ出来ないよ！！

【 I can't do that without education. !! 】

和やかな雰囲気は一気に冷め

【 Atmosphere was changing be bad.... 】

面接終了【 The end.lol 】

 

 

カナディアンのバーガーショップの面接

【 in the other interview of Canadian hamburger. 】

同じ格好で行き

【 I worn clothes like same last time. 】

悲しいことに、インターネットがエリアごとダウン

【 When, unfortunately, internet was not working in the area of around my place.  】

カナダでは良くあること。だけど、ありえない。住所が無い。

【 That is no impossible in Canada, but it's impossible for me. lol

 cause, when I didn't have a address about interview place. Jesus!! 】

結局遅刻・・・【 Finally be late. 】

『あああだめだ・・・』【 “oh..................” 】

でもね、面接してくれたんです

【 Fortunately, manager gave me time and had interview with me.  】

『よく来たね、えらい』

【 “You are here, you got it !! great !!” 】

『すみません、おそくなりました』

【 “I am so sorry, I'm late.” 】

それから仕事のあり方、お客様とは、メニューのこだわり

【 After that, he told me about schedule and business policy and

 how much important is coustomer and particular about menu. 】

分かりやすい説明で意気投合してそして

【 It was very good explanation and easy to understand. 】

『働きたい？』

【 “Do you want to work in here?” 】

『はい！！』

【 “YES!!” 】

『ウェイトレスもキッチンも両方できる？』

【 “Can you work as both waitress and cook?” 】

『はい』

【 “No problem !!” 】

『何ができる？』

【 “what can you do in here ? ” 】

『・・・・？』

【  “・・・・?” 】

ってか、またこの質問？

【 Again?? this question was very weird for me. 】

どんな仕事があるのか知らないよ

【 I reaaly don't know what can I do in here until you teach me !! 】

『ハンバーガー早く作ることできる？』

【 “Can you cook hamburgers quickly?”  】

『・・・・するでしょう』

【 “・・・・?......... I will......”  】

バーガー屋でしょ？

【 Here is hamburger restaurant right ? 】

レシピあるっしょ？

【 you have the recipe right? 】

早く作れるように教育するのがあなたの仕事じゃないの？

【 It's your duty to educate who can cook hamburger quickly. right ?  】

『できるんだよね？』

【 “Can you ?” 】

『あっ。。はい。。。』

【 “ah,,,,,Yes............”  】

ちょっと、空気かわり

【 An atmosphere changed a little bit. 】

それでも『君の事とっても気に入った』って言われ

【　but, he still smiled “ I have really taken to you”  】

時給の話して 【 after that he talked me about payment by the hour. 】

『いい返事できると思うよ。明日午前中に電話するね。

心配しないでも僕たちは直ぐに電話で話せるからね明日』って

【 “I guess　I can good answer for you, anyway I'll call you tomorrow morning.

 Don't worry, we will talk soon.” 】

もやっと感が残りつつも期待大

【 when I still had mist in my heart about that question,

  but I expected to get good answer.：）  】

結果【 Result 】

両方落ちました【 I didn't get both job. lol  】

一件目はもちろん有無も無く

【 The 1st restaurant was make sense. That is easy to understand. 】

二件目は、午前中に電話なく夕方に申し訳なさそうなメールが届きました。。。

【 The 2nd restaurant, manager didn't call me in the morning and

 after that I got email form him, it was very apologetic letter.oh... 】

体調【 my condition 】

激しく絶不調、寝れないし、疲れた。

【 I was very bad condition and sleepless and very very tired. 】

それに、面接の質問の意味が分からないから、

【 And I didn't understand what is the mean about that question.：（ 】

また引きこもり何度も考えた

【 I stayed indoors for a few days and think about that question over and over.】

どんな返事をすればいいのか？

【 What is the best answer? 】

手ごたえのない、活動に本当に仕事探すのやめようと何度も思いました。

【 It was unresponsive, I wanted to give up to look for job seriously.：（ 】

新年明けましておめでとうございます

【 I　wish you a happy new year 】

みなさんは如何お過ごしでしょうか？

【 How were you doing end of the last year ? 】

 

 

私は１２月中ごろからテスト、テスト、テスト、

未だにテストをまだ抱えて年を越しました

【 Meanwhile, I had exam, exam, exam from middle of the December.

　 and I still have exam this week..oh...  】

結局、前回の更新も途中です。。

【 So, I couldn't update my blog and stopping my story... ：（】

続きを今週また更新出来ればと思います。

【 I hope that I wanna update it about the rest story on this week. 】

 

 

私のテストと言うのは【 by the way, what is my exam...it is 】

 

１２月半ば　TOEICを受けました【 TOEIC it's English test. yeah 】

その１週間後　仕事のメニューを覚えているかテストありました

【 Second exam was about menu of restaurant. That was only a written exam.】

 

クリスマス頃　プロ・サーバーと言う試験の勉強を始めました

【 Third exam was about ProServe.oh... 】

アルバータ州では今年からお酒を販売するすべての人に

【 As of January 1st, 2010, If your job involves liquor sales or service in Alberta 】

サーバーとしての資格が必要と条例を制定

【 then you must have ProServe training. 】

なので、今レストランの受付とサーバーを両方しているのですが

【 So, I am working in restaurant as hostess and server now.  】

資格を必ず取得してくださいとマネージャーから言われ

【 My manager ordered me and co-work to get certification. 】

１月１日から資格が無ければ働けませんとまで言われ

【 Besides, manager said that

 you can't work in here without certification from January 1st...：（ 】

クリスマスから年末まで、３８７ページある概要をWEB上で読み

【 So, I read 387 page of summary

 from Christmas eve to New year's eve　on website.wow  】

３１日に一回目のテストを受け６５％　不合格

【 I took a exam on 31th of December. The result was 65% no pass.：（ 】

１日に二回目のテストを受け８３％　合格

【 I took a exam on January 1st . The result was 83% pass. ：）】

滑り込みセーフです（笑）

【 I was sliding  into deadline. lol 】

ってな感じで、お正月なんてありませんでした

【 So, I didn't feel Christmas and New year. oh....】

 

 

アルバータ州さん、最低気温のレコードも、新しい資格も

【 Hey, Mr. Alberta I don't need new record of temperature and

　new qualification of saver when I am in Edmonton. !! 】

私が居ない時に、決めて欲しいものです

【 Pls make new something without me. lol 】

 

 

今抱えているテストは【 well, I still have a exam. 】

メニューに使われてる食材の内容を説明できるか見たいな  

【 That exam is about ingredients of menu to memorize.oh... 】

テストが、今週にあります【 That's this week. 】

何故かって、カナダはベジタリアンが沢山いるので

【 Why do I have to take exam? Because, there are lots of vegetarian in Canada. 】

素材を説明できるようにと、アレルギーも結構沢山あるみたいです

 【 I have to explain about that then customer ask about that.

　 and also, there are some customer have allergy.  】

今はねカンニングペーパーを肌身離さず持ち歩いています

【 I have cunning paper anytime when I am working in there.lol 】

まだテストあるんだっと一人奮闘中です

【 I feel very tired Bacause, I always have something exam.oh... 】

 

 

ひとまず、私の年越しと新年は勉学と仕事から始まりました

【 Anyway, my new year started with studying and working.  】

昨年お世話になった方へお年賀を出せずに、

新年を迎えたのがとっても残念です

【 I am so sorry. I didn't sent greeting card

　to my family and friends and acquaintances this time. ：（ 】

 

 

昨年は大変お世話になりました
