今日は彼らの曲を紹介します。
Slowdive
彼らはイギリス出身で、1990年代前半に風を起こしたシューゲイザーサウンドの代表的なバンドです。
今日ご紹介するのは”Golden Hair”という曲。未発表曲だったのですが2005年に1991年リリースされたアルバム”Just for a day”のボーナストラックが発売され、そちらに収録されています。原曲はピンクフロイドの初期メンバーだったシド・バレットのものです。そして歌詞なのですが、これは作家、詩人であるジェイムズ・ジョイス(1882-1941)の詩を使っています。
詩とメロディーと曲構成の、時代を超えたコラボレーション。時を挟んで漂う「同じ”陰”と”陽”」がそこにあって重なるもんだから仕上がりがほぼ涅槃的。是非最後まで聴いて頂きたい。
