昨夜10時にベッドに入って、12時ごろに激しい雨の音で目が覚めました
家中のルーバー窓を点検して、雨が降りこみそうな場所は閉じてもう一度寝ました
この国の家のほとんどはトタン屋根なので、屋根を叩く雨音のほかに、バナナや椰子の葉を叩く音、すべてが交じり合って、まるでエアハンマーのようです
でもいつのまにか眠りに落ちて、朝は5時半に起床
雨はすっかり上がって薄日が差していました
出勤のため町に下りると、道路のあちこちに冠水の跡が見られます
道路の舗装が貧弱なため、強い雨が降るとあちこちに穴が開きます
そこを車が通るたびに穴が深くなり、時には直径1m以上で深さが20㎝ぐらいの穴ができ、車が徐行するために大渋滞が発生します
ときには徐行せずに急ハンドルで避けようとするタクシーが接触事故を起こし、渋滞に拍車をかけます
日本の道路舗装技術で、この国の道路を何とかできないかと思います
I went to bed about 10 o’clock last night and around the midnight I woke up by the huge sound of the rain.
I checked all rover windows and closed some of them and went to bed again.
The most of the house roofs in this country are covered by the tinplate and the huge rain makes the big noise.
Also hitting the leaves of the bananas and palm trees it makes big noise as if the air hummer.
But I felled into sleep within a while and woke up at 5:30.
The rain stopped already and the sun rose up slightly.
In the morning I went down to the town and found the traces of the flooding at everywhere.
The road work in this country is very poor and every heavy rain it makes a hole on the road.
The cars passing on the hole make it deeper and sometimes it becomes about 1m diameter and 20cm depth.
Most of the cars drive very slow and it makes the heavy traffic jam.
Sometimes the driver who doesn’t slow down but intends to steer away makes the crash and it accelerates the jamming.
I hope that could be improved by the high technology of Japanese road work.
