After confirming on Wednesday night that they placed a bid for Daisuke Matsuzaka, Yankees officials were tight-lipped on Thursday about the posting process for the Japanese pitcher.
Five clubs are believed to have submitted bids for the negotiating rights to Matsuzaka, with the Mets, Red Sox and Rangers also among the likely bidders.

The Seibu Lions, Matsuzaka's club in Japan, have four days to accept or reject the bid. The team is reportedly planning to discuss the issue at its weekly meeting on Friday.

"We've confirmed the amount of the [highest] bid, but I cannot say whether we'll accept or not until we make a final decision," Lions president Hidekazu Ota told the Mainichi Daily News on Thursday.

Should Seibu accept the bid -- which it is expected to do -- the winning team will have 30 days to work out a contract with Scott Boras, who is representing Matsuzaka.
