The following is from an article in today's Sankei Shimbun titled "Indonesia to ask Japan for cooperation in extending China-ordered high-speed railroad.
The following book provides the background for this article.
Miyazaki
Preamble omitted.
On the other hand, there was a history of China stealing Japanese construction specifications for constructing a railroad in Jakarta and forcing a Chinese company to accept the order.
However, the construction has not started at all.
If this is true, the completion should be in 2020, and the line should be open to traffic.
As you can see, a detailed investigation of China's "One Belt, One Road" project reveals many terrible facts about the project.
There are no limits.
However, miraculously, the railroad between Ethiopia and Djibouti was opened.
It is the only railroad completed under the "One Belt, One Road" initiative.
That is why Mr. Tedros, the Director General of WHO, who is from Ethiopia, is so excited about China because of the Wuhan virus problem.

The following is from "Indonesia to ask Japan for cooperation in extending China-ordered high-speed railroad. (Singapore=Hiro Mori)
Indonesia announced by the 5th that it plans to extend the high-speed railroad linking the capital Jakarta and Bandung, West Java, which China has ordered, with the participation of Japan.
The high-speed railroad contract was awarded to China after an ordered battle between the two countries.
Still, the completion of the project has been postponed several times, and Indonesia wants to promote the project with Japan's cooperation.
Coordinating Minister Airlangga, who is in charge of the economy, revealed this on May 29.
According to local newspaper The Jakarta Post and other sources, Airlangga stated that President Joko intends to " extend the high-speed railroad to Surabaya (the second largest city in the country)" and that he will seek Japan's cooperation.
Indonesia intends to integrate the high-speed railroad with Japan's current semi-speed plan for the railroad linking Jakarta and Surabaya.
Japan and Indonesia agreed on the semi-high-speed project last September, and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) is currently conducting a field survey.
According to the Japanese Embassy in Jakarta, Japan has yet to receive any proposal or request from Indonesia for the high-speed rail extension.
However, the tracks envisioned in the semi-high-speed plan have narrow track widths, and there are already indications that it would be technically challenging to integrate them with the more expansive high-speed railroad.
The Indonesian government has also announced that the construction period for the high-speed railroad is expected to be extended to September 2022.
Initially scheduled for completion in 2019, the target was changed to 21 years but has been pushed back.
The reasons cited include difficulties in land expropriation and the halt in construction work due to the new coronavirus outbreak.
Japan initially pitched the high-speed rail project as a bullet train system, but in 2015, China, which joined later, proposed a system that would not require Indonesia to bear any financial burden, which was adopted.
The total project cost is about $6 billion (approximately ¥650 billion).
