文明のターンテーブルThe Turntable of Civilization

日本の時間、世界の時間。
The time of Japan, the time of the world

Being moved forcibly and sex slavery were both lies.

The following is from Masayuki Takayama's latest book, published on 9/1/2022 under the title "Japanese! Wake Up!" printed 9/1/2022.
This book also proves that he is the one and only journalist in the postwar world.
It is a must-read not only for the Japanese people but for people worldwide.
Many Japanese citizens are unaware of the majority of the facts that this chapter reveals.
And more recently, Sweden has had Alexis Dudden, who is nothing more than a South Korean agent, appear on national T.V. to deliver an indescribably rude and vicious attack on Shinzo Abe on the national broadcaster regarding Mr. Abe's state funeral.
After reading the following chapter during a difficult night of sleep a few nights ago, I was convinced that I was right about the truth of the Abe assassination and about the existence of the person or persons who had committed the crime, which had crossed my mind immediately after the incident.
I will describe this later.
Asahi never correct or apologizes for leaking a false story.
They pretend not to know but are too proud to be accountable to other companies.
KY", the symbol of the coral graffiti incident

I clearly remember when I was disgusted with Asahi Shimbun.
In the spring of 2007, a story appeared on Asahi's society page with the headline "Do you know KY?
For a moment, I couldn't believe my eyes.
I couldn't believe my eyes for a moment because "KY" was a word that symbolized the disgraceful "coral graffiti incident" that got Asahi's president, Toichiro Ichiyanagi, fired.
The incident occurred more than 20 years ago, in 1989.
The word "KY" was carved into a large thistle coral by Yoshiro Honda, an Asahi photographer who dived into the sea of Iriomote Island using a flashlight handle.
Honda published it in a newspaper as "graffiti by Japanese people who do not value nature,"
And Kenichi Furuhata wrote in an explain-a-picture that "it is a picture of poverty of spirit, of a cluttered mind that is not ashamed of instantly damaging something that has been nurtured for a hundred years…
Asahi takes much time and effort to make up such a story to criticize the Japanese.
It is the behavior of a Korean or a Chinese.
But Asahi's malice was immediately exposed by the locals.
Asahi arrogantly denied it, but its malice angered its readers in slandering the Japanese people with false stories.
Subscriptions declined tremendously, and eventually, Asahi decided to have Ichiyanagi resign.
That is how it happened.
So I never expected to see the word "KY" proudly on the front page of Asahi. I read that "KY" means "can't read the air" and is used by "JK (high school girls).
In short, it's a leisurely story. So I felt even more uncomfortable.
If you are a reporter at Asahi, there is no way you would have forgotten about the coral incident.
It is, especially if you are a copy editor.
Did the reporter hesitate to write the article just because "KY," the symbol of the coral reef incident, appeared in another popular word?
Even if they had, the desk would have rejected the article because "KY" is an old injury of Asahi.
The fact that they still published the article in the paper shows that they no longer feel ashamed of KY and have no remorse for their actions.
I gave up on Asahi at that point because I could not expect decent reporting from such a company.
But to be sure, I rechecked to see how far Ichiyanagi's remorse had survived.

Being moved forcibly and sex slavery were both lies.
I was going to give him leniency if he had any good points.
Then, just two years after the coral incident, Ichiyanagi's successor, Nakae Toshitada, had already had Uemura Takashi write the "comfort woman Kim Hak-sun" lie.
It was a big lie that the Japanese, who had no history of slavery, used sex slaves in the last war.
Any remorse over the coral incident was gone at that point.
Nakae also let Nobuo Ishihara, known for his sharpness, stand against reformist Yukio Aoshima in the Tokyo gubernatorial election, and let him drag his feet on the front page of the paper.
The Utsunomiya bureau forged a noshibukuro (gift bag) with the words "parting gift, all of Tochigi Prefecture." It printed a photo of the bag to give the impression that Ishihara was involved in a money scandal.
The MO was the same as that of the coral graffiti incident.
The "recruiting scandal" is being called an Asahi scoop.
Although Asahi denounced the politicians and bureaucrats who were latching on to Ezoe Hiromasa with an air of righteousness, the truth is that both Honda Katsuichi and Hikita Keiichiro of Asahi were latching on to Nakae as well.
Arrogant behavior continued after that.
In November 2012, Prime Minister-elect Shinzo Abe stated during a party leadership debate at the Japan Press Club that the comfort women lie was "spread by the Asahi Shimbun newspaper based on the story of a con man named Seiji Yoshida.
He pointed out that Asahi is the one who has been undermining the Japanese people.
Like the coral graffiti, Asahi arrogantly denied Abe's statement and insisted that Yoshida Seiji's statement was correct.
Still, the first time they did their backup reporting, they found that Yoshida's words were all lies.
The comfort women being moved forcibly and the sex slaves were all lies fabricated by Asahi, which had been undermining the Japanese military for 30 years and arrogantly telling the Japanese people to "face up to history."
The "no subscriptions to Asahi Shimbun" policy spread throughout Japan.
In the end, Tadakazu Kimura, the president of Asahi, resigned, reluctantly admitting that Asahi had disgraced the Japanese people and distorted history with its false reports.

The Moritomo Kake fiasco, reported in the article, put a deliberately lousy interpretation.
But they still did not reflect on their actions.
They were intent on getting Abe fired, the source of everything that had put Asahi in such a difficult position, under editorial chief Seiki Nemoto.
That was the Moritomo and Kake Gakuen scandal.
Look for allegations against Abe. The information should be uncertain, and the rest of the article should be a deliberately lousy interpretation.
Once Abe was cornered and removed from the board using this shameless approach, Asahi pushed for "a deliberately bad interpretation" in all areas of news reporting.
It means it is okay to lie as long as it is plausible.
On the issue of nuclear power plants, which Abe is pushing, the editorial stated, "It could use Japan's plutonium stockpile to build 6,000 nuclear bombs," thereby advocating the destruction of nuclear power plants.
However, from reprocessing light water reactors, plutonium cannot be used to make nuclear bombs.
It is common knowledge in the world.
Still, the Asahi, knowing it is a lie, continues to agitate the foolish anti-nuclear activists.
Last year, a newspaper convention resolved that newspapers should engage in responsible speech through accurate and fair reporting.
None of this applies to Asahi, but it is challenging to deal with because it considers itself a model newspaper.
In fact, it recently editorialized the Fuji Sankei Group's polling scandal in which a sub-subcontracted research organization was guilty of sloppiness.
Both companies verified and apologized, but Asahi said, "It must have affected Abe's approval rating. The Asahi editorial was condescending, saying, "Apologizing won't suffice."
Fuji Sankei was indeed at fault.
And they have rectified the situation and are doing so.
But what about Asahi?
The lies about comfort women have led to the erection of strange statues worldwide, yet Asahi has not fulfilled any accountability.
It has not even corrected the Nanking Massacre lie, the "This is the poison gas operation" lie, or the lie about 6,000 nuclear weapons.
Can we not let the Asahi Shimbun nail us to the wall for doing whatever it wants?
I felt a little weak, but the world was watching.
Asahi's current account deficit exceeded 10 billion yen.
Circulation continues to decline, advertising continues to drop, and personnel cuts are inevitable.
Is it unusual for a newspaper to be more pleased with its disappearance than Corona? (May 2021 issue)
