TOEFL Speaking Practice Test 4
今回はこの動画の Question 3 を解説します。時間は 9:20～14:23 の箇所です。
TOEFL用語でいうと integrated question と呼ばれます。integrateとは「まとめる」という意味です。
まず最初に文章(passageといっています)を読みます。次に講義を聞きます。この問題では以下のような内容です。
パターンはほとんど文章で専門用語が説明され、講義でその具体例が２つ（か３つ）挙げられます。
文章： 記憶には二種類 ー 顕在記憶と潜在記憶
講義： 顕在記憶⇒昨日何を食べたか、 潜在記憶⇒ハイウェイで見た車の広告
そして、問題は下記のとおりです。

それでは実際に問題を解いてみましょう。
最初に文章を読み、キーワードを抜き出します。
テーマ→ memory, explicit and implicit
説明１→ explicit = conscious + intentional
説明２→ implicit = no conscious but remaining
次に講義を聞いて、キーワードを抜き出します。
例１→ explicit: what you ate last night
例２→ implicit: ad on billboard of the car named panther
表にして対比すると以下のようになります。

会話を聞いた後、３０秒の時間で話す英語のイメージを作ります

太字や斜字の部分はメモに付け足す内容です。
太字： ほぼすべての問題で使う常套句
斜字： メモで抜き出したキーワードを文章にもどすために付加した部分 ⇒ 英文作成能力が問われます
最初のうちは上の表のように書いてみた方が慣れるにはいいと思います。
[1]⇒[6]の順番で話します。学生の会話の問題のときのように[1]⇒[4]⇒[2]⇒[5]⇒…と進むこともできますが、対比が難しい場合ありますので、この順番で話すのが無難です。
このメモは１１０語あります。ゆっくりはっきり６０秒話すとだいたい９０～１００語です。この場合少し早く話すか、少し内容を削るか（青字の部分）となります。
繰り返して速くできるようになったら、書かずに頭の中で作業するようにします。
本番での準備時間は３０秒しかありませんからたいへんですが、時間をかければ慣れていきます。
