It is a design manhole cover of traditional folk art "Temari Matsumoto" familiar as a symbol of Matsumoto.
An elaborate and elegant Matsumoto Temari wrapped in beautiful color threads was born in the Edo period, and it is said that the children of Matsumoto castle liked favorite.
