Spaghetti al Nero di Seppia

Last Saturday evening I went to an Italian restaurant to celebrate my early birthday dinner with my friends. Since last month I wanted to eat squid ink pasta because it is one of my favorite kinds of pasta. When I was little and had my first squid ink pasta in Italy, I asked myself what was this? My mom ordered it since I`m not eating tomato pasta. The server had placed a heaping plate of black spaghetti in front of me, sprinkled with bits of calamari, and tomatoes. Colorful, to say the least. In all honesty, appetizing? I wasn’t sure.

 

Since we were there to experience local cuisine chosen by my mom and recommended by the staff, I asked my server what the dish was called. “Spaghetti al nero di seppia” (spaghetti with squid ink). I must confess, at the end of the meal, that the server was right. It was surprisingly delicious. The squid ink sauce was smooth, delicate, and just a little salty. Would I order a plate of Spaghetti al nero di seppia again? Absolutely!

That`s why I ate squid ink pasta in Chiantibuono in Sendai Ichibancho. Their squid ink pasta was a bomb. Its flavor exploded inside my mouth and I time travelled back when I was in Italy. I recommend this shop if you want to eat delicious Italian pasta. By the way, their salad is also tasty.
