Good evening! I'm happy today because it's the first full day of autumn. Yesterday was the fall equinox (秋分), so it means that the nights are now longer than the days. For some people, this is kind of sad. But for me, I love this time of year!! My birthday is in the fall, and Halloween is coming at the end of next month. This afternoon, all of the full-time staff at Starry had a meeting to discuss the Halloween event we'll be having on October 31st. It should be really fun! What do you think about Halloween???
It's one of my favorite holidays. I feel that it's so exciting to dress up in a special costume and go "trick-or-treating" with friends. October is a great month, since it always starts with my birthday on October 1st and ends with Halloween on the last day. By the way, a couple of weeks ago I wrote a blog with pictures of my family. I said that I might post some more photos of myself, too. I have good news today!! I found two pictures of me from my younger days. Here is the first one:
As you can see, I had blonde hair back then. People usually called me "Pete" when I was a kid. It's a kind of nickname which my family members still sometimes use with me. But as I got older, my hair became more brown and I also started wearing glasses. That's what I look like in the second photo:
I remember working part-time at a circus when that picture was taken. I know I seem to be a type of clown (ピエロ), but actually I mostly just played drums at that circus. I didn't really do any clown jokes or funny things, even though my clothes were very strange when I worked there. Hahahaha... I'm just kidding! These two photos here are not really me, of course. Here is a real picture from last month:
I had just gotten the coronavirus vaccine then, and so I went to a restaurant to celebrate. My hair is still mostly dark brown these days, but you can also probably see some gray hair beginning to appear now. The "Pete" photo I put up here is from Starry's "Magic E" cards which we sometimes practice with students. And the "drum" picture of me is actually from a box at the main entrance of Starry. We keep chalk in that box! But the image on the box looks like me a little bit, don't you think????
