イングランドプレミアリーグ・Ｗブロムウィッチの日本代表ＭＦ稲本は、２７日のミドルスブラ戦（アウエー）で４試合連続の先発フル出場を果たした。得点に絡むことはできなかったが、主に守備面で２－２ドローでの勝ち点１獲得に貢献した。１７位浮上で降格圏内から脱出。「アウエーでの貴重な引き分け。選手たちはよく健闘した」とロブソン監督も満足げだった。

稲本４戦連続フル出場

ウエストブロミッジ（ＷＢＡ）の日本代表ＭＦ稲本潤一（２６）はアウエーのミドルスブラ戦に４試合連続フル出場し、２―２の引き分けに貢献した。

４試合連続でフル出場した稲本は、２８日付の英大衆紙ザ・サンで５点と採点された。１ゴール１アシストのＦＷカヌが最高点の９点だったのを筆頭に、７点が４人、６点が１人などのＷＢＡの中では最低点だった。同紙は「きっちり自分のポジションを守ったが、運動量を上げていく必要がある」と寸評をつけた。
中盤で守備的な動きを重視するよう指示されている稲本は、９０分間で３９本のパスを出したが、まだまだボールタッチは少ない。前節のエバートン戦（１９日）で３連敗から脱出し、中位で安定した力を発揮しているミドルスブラと敵地でドローに持ち込むことができたことは満足できる結果だ。チームは勝ち点１２で１７位へとわずかに順位を落とした。

Neil Clement believes West Brom are starting to see the best of Junichi Inamoto now the Japan international has finally forced his way into the first team under Bryan Robson.
Inamoto was signed by previous Baggies boss Gary Megson in the summer of 2004 after loan spells at Arsenal and Chelsea but has taken time to adjust to what is required to attain regular football.
Robson made it clear to Inamoto what he had to improve to make the step forward and the midfielder has responded in a positive fashion which culminated in him being voted man of the match by Albion fans in the 4-0 win over Everton last weekend.

Clement said: "'Ina' was different class against Everton. He played really well and has been doing so since the start of pre-season and the beginning of the season.
"He had an outstanding game. It was difficult for him as well because he had played a game in the week for Japan and had a long trip afterwards but he came back and pulled out another big performance.
"He is a top player, a talented player, who has been producing what we know he is capable of. He has had a lot of internationals and a tough summer so it was difficult for him when he came back to Albion.
"He did not have much of a break but he has been determined to try and force his way into the picture here and has been taking his chance."

Centre-back Clement, who scored the decisive second goal against Everton, is hoping that victory will act as a springboard for the remainder of the season as they prepare for Sunday's trip to Middlesbrough.（抜粋）

JUNICHI Inamoto has praised Ronnie Wallwork for helping him make an impact on the Baggies first team.
The Japan international only returned to England two days before Saturday's Everton clash after a tiring round trip to Tokyo to play 79 minutes in a 1-0 victory against Angola.
But Inamoto showed no signs of fatigue on his third successive Barclays Premiership start thanks to his flourishing central-midfield partnership with the hard-working Wallwork.
And 'Ina's' energetic display earned him the man-of-the-match honours.
"I was asked on Friday by the manager whether I could give 100 per cent and I replied 'yes' as I thought it was my chance to progress," said the former Arsenal and Fulham loan signing.
"Although I only came back on Thursday, I thought my work rate wasn't too bad and although it was a tough game I was motivated for 90 minutes.
"Ronnie was doing most of the defensive work in front of our back four so I was able to move forward a bit more in this game.
"When Kanu came on he kept the ball and we had a good shape."
