70歳すぎてからニューヨークに移住したおじいさんのお話～Englishman in New York♪

[髪がふさふさのスティング]

 

先の家出した96歳のおじいさんの話で思い出したのが

StingのEnglishman in New York♪

 

この曲が発表されたころ、Stingがテレビで「70歳すぎてロンドンからニューヨークへ移住した男性の話」と言っていたのをみて

いくつになっても新天地をもとめるなんてよい話ではありませんか。。と思って覚えていました。

ほとんど感動に近かったかもしれません。

モデルとなったのはその道（どの道かはWikiに...）では有名なQuentin Crisp氏。

Music videoにでてくるちょっとおばあちゃんっぽい男性です。 

 

*2009年の同名の映画ではジョン・ハート(最近?ではハリーポッターで杖のお店の店主)がクリスプ役をしています。

 

この曲の影響で、自分のことを Permanent resident といわずに

言ってみたいばかりにLegal alien と言った機会。。。わりとあったかも～(^_^.)

クリスプさんも若い頃は保守的な英国でとても苦労されたようですね。
