A little less than three years have passed since I took office in S. Korea.
Of all the facilities I hitherto visited, I felt that the facility with the most complete explanations in Japanese-language was the Pohang steel plant of the major steel company POSCO Co., Ltd., to which I visited this month.
POSCO is a company that drove S. Korea's rapid growth based on economic cooperation funds provided by Japan due to the 1965 Japan-RoK diplomatic relations normalization.
The local history museum and product exhibition hall were deployed Japanese-language interpreters respectively, and afluent audio translated materials were available.
I could learn about exchanges between Japanese and Korean engineers in details.

I was explained that "The company's top is also replaced with a progressive person, therefore political friction doesn't occur."

In the past, there were no company top who retired after expiration of the term.
The current chairman, who took office under the previous administration, is currently being treated poorly, such as being removed from the presidential overseas business trip group. The media therefore describe it "cruel history of POSCO's chairman."
If you know about POSCO, you can learn not only Japan-S. Korea relations, but also about an aspect of S. Korean politics, in which the presidential office has tremendous power and controls business activities too.
