Nick Clegg’s latest idea for economic recovery, more tax please, is at least predictable. No surprises and no new ideas.

ニック・クレッグ英自民党党首の最新景気回復案「もっと税金寄越せゴルァ」は、まあ少なくとも、想定内です。サプライズもなければ新発想もないっていう。

It’s also consistent with a Coalition bereft of policies to encourage growth that would complement the difficult reform of public spending.

英連立政権の、ムツカシイ財政改革のおまけ、萎え萎え「成長促進」政策とも矛盾してませんし。

It is encouraging, however, to see George Osborne placed the Deputy Prime Minister back in his box by insisting the country must protect wealth creators as a starting point for recovery.

とはいえ、オズボーン財務相が、我が国は景気回復の出発点として富の創造者を擁護せねばならんのだ、と断言して英副首相に「おとといきやがれ」したのは元気の出る光景ですよ。

Clegg doesn’t understand wealth, or the wealth effect, a phenomenon as important to an economy as ocean currents are to the climate.

クレッグさんは、富または資産効果は、気候にとっての海くらいに重要なんだよってことがわかんないんです

A tax rate of half what people earn over £150,000 has been proven to be a failure both in terms of the amount it raises in revenue and the more important impact it has on behaviour. It discourages economic activity rather then encourages it.

年収15万ポンド以上の人からは年収の半分を税金として徴収します、なんて税制は、金額の面で失敗してる上に、もっと大事な行動への影響面でも失敗してますね。
そんなものは経済活動を燃え上がらせるどころか萎えさせるのです。

Clegg is right in one matter, which is his desire to see wealth, and the wealthy, make a bigger contribution. But that is achieved through creating more wealth, not less. Entrepreneurs and wealth creators should be encouraged in the fulfilment of their dreams, not discouraged.

クレッグさんも間違っていないことが一つあります。
それっていうのは、富とか富んでる人とかにもっと貢献して欲しい！という願望です。
でもね、それっていうのはもっと富を生み出すことによって達成出来るのですよ。
減らしても達成出来ませんから。
企業家とか富を生み出す人達っていうのは、彼らの夢が達成するのを励まされるべきなんです。
萎えさせちゃ駄目です。

Clegg should be espousing policies that increase company formation to create jobs, or expand existing companies. There are 4.8m small and medium sized companies in the UK. If they were to create, on average, one new job each what a difference that would make to the economy, tax revenues and the bill for unemployment benefit.

クレッグさんは、雇用を創出する起業を活性化したり、既存の企業を拡大させるような政策を支持するべきなんですよ。
英国の中小企業は480万社。
これらの会社が平均1人分の求人を生み出せば、経済、税収、失業給付費用にどれだけの違いが出ると思ってんですか。

That requires investment. But when it comes to funding that investment the Coalition remains obsessed with companies taking on more bank debt rather than encouraging equity funding.

それには投資が要るんですよ。
なのにその投資の資金調達となると、この連立政権は相変わらず、株式発行による資金調達を奨励せずに、銀行から金を借りる企業に固執しています。

Small improvements have been made to funding arrangements, but more should be dones. The Treasury is well aware of what these improvements should be and if there is to be a concerted autumn push on growth then equity funding needs to be addressed as a central part of those plans.

資金調達については殆ど何も改善されていませんが、もっと色々すべきでしょ。
財務省はすべき「色々」がなんなのかよーくわかっていますから、秋に成長へ向けての一斉突撃をやる予定なら、攻撃計画の目玉としてエクイティ・ファイナンスをどうにかしなくちゃいけませんですよ。

英のインテリゲンチャは英自由民主党を応援していた人々を愛を込めて「おQ層」と呼んでいるとかいないとか（笑）。

どうでもいいや。
面白いから、どっちもがんばれ！

EUのごたごたがハリウッドの長編映画なら、英のごたごたはBBCの伝統的SitCom。
ワタクシはSitComのが好き～。

「Citizen Khan」は面白い！！
久々に大笑いしたSitCom。
「娘よ、娘よ、ドアを開けておくれ。ほら、ワタクシだ、ワタクシ。お前のお父様だよ。ミスター・カーンだよ！」とすねた娘に呼びかけるおとっつぁん。
相変わらず、ラジオのコメディ番組がTVになっちゃう英国。
あ、ちなみにこれはパキスタン系英国人のコメディです。
以前Sketchを集めた「Goodness Gracious Me」（こちらはインド系、同じくラジオ発）がありましたが、あれよりもパワフルかも。

在日外国人もさー、このぐらいのことすれば良いのに。
なんで日本人のふりしなくちゃいけないの？
コリアン色、チャイナ色とかふりかざして大笑いすれば良いじゃん。
「ニポン人の食事は葬式みたいアル！中国四千年の賑やかディナーを思い知れ！」とかやらかして笑えば良いじゃん。
「ニポン人の葬式は図書館みたいニダ！世界の中心で号泣する朝鮮一万年のアイゴー葬式を見習うニダ！」とかやれば良いのに。

別にやりたくないならやってくれなくて結構だからどうでも良いけど。
どうせTV点けないし。
