途上国での修理の工夫 Wisdome for Repairing in Developing Country

12月18日の記事で、人工呼吸器の修理について書きましたが、メーカーからは病院の責任において修理するという前提で、サービスマニュアルの提供を受けました

早速マニュアルに沿って点検を行いましたが、内部にはいくつかのエアポンプがあり、それぞれの吸入口にはスポンジのフィルターがついています

マニュアルには3か月ごとにフィルターの清掃をするようにと記述されていますが、おそらく新規設置以来、一度も清掃あるいは交換が行われていないように見えます

カバーを外すと、オレンジ色のスポンジフィルターが見えます

これを取り外して清掃しようとしたところ、ボロボロに砕けてしまいました

しかも吸入口の金属部分に癒着しています

これをきれいに剥離したところまでは良いのですが、当然予備のフィルターなどありません

元のフィルターは円筒状になっていますが、そんな都合の良い代用品は見当たらないので、器械を輸送するときに使うクッションスポンジを使うことにしました

片面が波状になっていて反対側が平坦なスポンジをカットして、厚さ約8mmの平坦なスポンジを作り、それをカバーの内側にセットします

これで純正品と変わらないフィルター効果が得られるはずです

途上国での修理にはこのような工夫が不可欠ですが、そのときの注意点としては、その代用品で十分な効果が得られるかということのほかに、医療器としての安全性にも配慮が必要です

I described about the “Ventilator” on 18 December.

The manufacturer provided the service manual under the condition of that repairing will be done under the responsibility of the hospital.

I started soon according to the manual, and there are several air pumps in the ventilator.

Each pump has the sponge air filter on its air intake port.

The manual describes that the filters should be clean every 3 months but it seemed never be done since installation.

Detaching the cover, orange color filter appears.

However trying to detach, it had broken into pieces.

Also some pieces adhered on the metal part of the air intake.

Removing them and cleared it but of course I didn’t prepare the spare filter.

The original one is shaped like as a cylinder but nothing for instead of same shape.

I decided to use the cushion sponge for the transport of the equipment.

One side is formed as ripple and other side is flat.

Cut it for the plane of 8mm thin and put it in the cover of the filter.

It must be almost same effect with the original one.

In the developing country, we often use this kind of wisdom.

The points of consideration when we use something instead are that it functions enough and the safety as the medical equipment.
