現代は、変化の激しい次代である。技術革新は凄まじいし、社会、経済、文化のどれをとっても極めて速く変化している。しかも、その変化自体が年を追う毎に速くなっているのである。
このような時代であれば、当然、世代間ギャップの問題が出てくるのは当然である。最早、中高年層の常識が、若い世代には常識ではなくなってしまうケースが多くなってきている。
とりわけインターネットによる影響が大きいであろう。スマホの利用は高齢層では少ないが、若年層では必携品である。マスメディアの主は、テレビからインターネットに移ってしまったようだ。
こうした背景から、若い人達の情報入手は多様化し、かつ国際的になっているように思える。

The present age is a generation of rapid change. Technological innovation is tremendous, and society, economy, and culture are all changing extremely quickly. Moreover, this change itself is accelerating with each passing year.
In times like these, it is natural that the issue of generation gaps will arise. In many cases, what is common sense among the middle-aged and elderly is no longer common sense among the younger generation.
In particular, the influence of the Internet will be large. The use of smartphones is low among older people, but it is a must-have item among younger people. The main form of mass media seems to have shifted from television to the Internet.
Against this background, it seems that young people's access to information is becoming more diverse and international.
