The following is a continuation of the previous chapter.
On the other hand, the Asahi Shimbun responded that there was an English translation of an article published on August 5, 2014, with the Yoshida testimony judged to be false, and can still be viewed online. URL (address on the net) is shown.
The Asahi Shimbun argues that it is already in English.
Indeed, if you type the URL directly into the browser, you can see the English translation.
However, Kent and I felt uncomfortable.
It is because I have searched a lot about comfort women related articles online, but I have never seen them.
So, in a video that appeared in the two, Kent-san murmured to suspicious, showing the URL of the matter, saying, ’It won't come out even if we search for half a day.'
This one word changed the flow.
There is a professional IT engineer, too, in an audience, and if the doubt of 'as it escapes from a search surely, is it programmatic?' Passed his head and checks immediately, it is that of one that was sure.
Several people contacted me via Twitter.
The source pages of the articles (program pages on the web, which can be viewed by anyone) were typed in a code called a meta tag that escaped search by search engines such as Google.
With this in, you can't get to the article directly by searching on Google.
Even more surprising was pointed out by the viewer.
There were 11 comfort women-related articles published on August 5, 2014, and their English translation published on the same day, 22nd, but there was another article with an embedded search escape meta tag. It was.
This article admits that the comfort women and women's volunteer corps were confused.
It is not included in other articles.
In other words, Asahi made sure that the claim of them who suppose 'the essence of a comfort woman problem doesn't change' and 'There was a compulsoriness' and so on are made public, and two inconvenient articles that admit their own mistake were not to read as much as possible.
Not only that, all the 11 English articles were written in Japanese on Japanese sites.
At first glance, it is an English article, but it is created in the Japanese Asahi Shimbun Digital Site, and the source page is defined as 'language = Japanese' and 'content = Japanese.'
Asahi Shimbun also has an English site called 'Asia Japan Watch,' but only these English translations are placed as Japanese pages on the Japanese site.
It makes it increasingly difficult to search outside of the country.
I'm omitting the technical story, but various other 'devices cannot be searched.'
Mr. Miyawaki Atsushi, an IT journalist who is following me on Twitter, pointed out that this is 'reverse SEO.'
In general, companies and individuals make every effort to make their websites listed as high as possible.
Usually, meta tags are also used for that purpose.
It is called SEO (Search Engine Optimization).
On the other hand, there is this direct opposition i.e.case, to make an effort for its site and its name, not touching a public eye as much as possible.
It is called 'reverse SEO.'
'Reverse SEO' is mainly performed by individuals who have unfavorable past and criminal organizations that operate illegal back sites.
It can be said that it is unprecedented that a newspaper company that should be a public organ of society puts 'reverse SEO' on its articles.
This article continues.
