Europe's hypocrisy in not admitting its mistakes

The following is from an article by Taishi Sugiyama, published in the current issue of the monthly magazine "Seiron" titled "Deoxygenation Single-Step is Suicide.
This paper also proves that he is one of the leading researchers and public speakers in the postwar world.
At the same time, the paper proves beyond measure how stupid and low-brow all the political parties and bureaucrats in Japan were when the Asahi Shimbun newspaper controlled them until 2014.
They and the world media have been wielding pseudo-moralism and political correctness.
This paper proves how foolish it is and what consequences it will have for the nation and the world.
It is a must-read not only for Japanese citizens but for people around the world.
The following is a continuation of the previous chapter.
Europe's hypocrisy in not admitting its mistakes
It is not only Japan that is failing.
Until just before the war in Ukraine, the West had been pushing for "decarbonization" and neglecting energy security.
Now the whole world is suffering because of it.
The European Union (EU) has depended on Russia for 40% of its gas imports.
It is due to the de-nuclearization of Germany and other countries and decarbonization.
Coal-fired power plants have been scaled back.
The development of shale gas, buried under their feet, was not done.
As a result, wind power generation and gas imports from Russia expanded, leaving the country "dependent on wind and Russia."
Last year, however, the wind did not blow, and the country became dependent on Russian gas.
Seeing Europe's feet on the ground, Putin invaded Ukraine, saying that this would make it impossible to impose an embargo on gas.
Panicked, Europe is scrambling to procure all kinds of fossil fuels to move forward with de-Russia.
Britain is developing new coal mines.
Germany is preparing for the entire operation of coal-fired power.
It also mines natural gas.
Italy is also considering restarting coal-fired power plants.
Europe is increasing its coal purchases from South Africa, Colombia, and the United States.
It is also trying to import from Botswana.
Because of the European debacle, all fossil fuel energy is in short supply worldwide.
Pity the developing countries that have suffered the consequences.
The Indian government has subsidized fuel imports and ordered coal-fired power plants to operate at total capacity.
More than 100 coal mines are expected to be restarted, increasing coal production by 100 million tons over the next two to three years.
Environmental regulations for coal mines have also been eased.
Vietnam will also expand domestic coal production.
Because of the significant problems originating in Europe, developing countries are all struggling to secure fossil fuels and electricity.
Yet European governments refuse to admit that they have inconvenienced the world with their misguided decarbonization policies.
On the contrary, at the recent G7 Energy and Environment Ministers' meeting in Berlin, they agreed to halt foreign financing of fossil fuel projects by the end of this year to decarbonize.
But on the other hand, Europe's scramble around the world to procure fossil fuels is entirely hypocritical.
This article continues.
