The people who make their living from the media have deepened the fragmentation of democratic society.

As mentioned, I stopped my subscription to the Japanese edition of Newsweek, which I had been reading regularly since its first publication.

I'm not the type of person who uses a smartphone very often, but I subscribed to d Magazine and read it from time to time.
Today, I noticed an advertisement at the bottom of a weekly magazine and was surprised when I tried to read it.
It was because I could also read the Japanese edition of Newsweek.
My decision to stop subscribing was fueled by the disappointment of seeing a person, who claimed to have worked at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, misuse the platform as a columnist, writing editorials that resembled those of the Asahi Shimbun.

The fact that Yang Hae-young is a columnist shows that the magazine's original role in conveying the truth of things is still alive and well.
However, there was a man who called himself a writer and wrote editorials that were exactly the reason why I had stopped my long-term subscription.

His editorials, to put it bluntly, were a display of sheer foolishness.
He labeled anyone who disagreed with the Asahi Shimbun as right-wingers or net-rightists, without bothering to verify any facts.
Reading this foolish man's article, I remembered the unbelievable stupidity of Keiichiro Hirano, which I saw on Twitter this morning, and was left speechless.
It's astonishing that a man with such a narrow-minded perspective, akin to those at the Asahi Shimbun or a TV talk show, could graduate from Kyoto University, win the Akutagawa Prize, and make a living as a writer.
Perhaps this man is so devoted to the Asahi Shimbun and supports the Constitutional Democratic Party of Japan.

A voracious reader friend of mine said angrily, "The Akutagawa Prize does more harm than good. It's completely unnecessary."
Speaking of Hirano Keiichiro, this man has single-handedly brought the price of Kyoto University down to rock bottom.

I will go back to the main topic.
The editorial titled "America Needs the BBC."
perfectly demonstrated how ridiculous the people who have been acting as justice-loving masked heroes on TV stations such as NHK, which has commented that President Trump has caused a division in American society,
have been.

In other words, it is the people who make their living from the media, portraying themselves as champions of justice, who have deepened the division in our democratic society.
They have continued to allow the propaganda of a country of "abysmal evil" and "plausible lies."

I will introduce just that part.
In recent years, a storm of biased reporting has been raging in the United States, and the division of society has deepened to the point where nothing can be done about it.
What this country needs now is a public media organization like the BBC.
The BBC, which has been granted a charter as a public broadcaster, is legally obliged to provide news coverage that emphasizes fairness.
When the achievements above were announced, the then-chairman of the BBC, Tony Hall, said this:
"We are undoubtedly one of the strongest and most famous British brands and are synonymous with high quality and accuracy recognized by the world."
Yes, what people are looking for is high-quality, accurate news coverage.
The rest is omitted.
