The Ongoing Catastrophic Damage Inflicted on Japan by the Smelyakovs — Still Unbelievably Foolish and Malicious
August 5, 2024
The following is from Yoshiko Sakurai’s regular column published today on the front page of the Sankei Shimbun.
This piece once again proves that she is a “National Treasure” in the truest sense of the term, as defined by the great Saichō.
After World War II, GHQ implanted, gave birth to, and raised children within Japan.
Exploiting its absolute position as the victor, GHQ raised these children to hate their own father — the Japanese state.
In other words, GHQ created countless “Smelyakovs” in Japan.
At the same time, it granted privileges to those “Smelyakovs” who had roots on the Korean Peninsula.
The most prominent representative of these Smelyakovs is the Asahi Shimbun.
The administration created by the Asahi Shimbun — the Democratic Party of Japan — was also a regime led by Smelyakovs.
This article is the first to explicitly reveal to the readers of the Sankei Shimbun the shocking reality: that these Smelyakovs, to this day, are continuing to inflict devastating damage on Japan through unfathomable foolishness and malice.
Most Japanese citizens were completely unaware of these outrageous facts that she has now made public.
Why? Because the mainstream media has likely been intentionally hiding these truths.
That is why I have chosen to issue this message to the Japanese people, titling each segment of the second half accordingly.
This is a must-read not only for Japanese citizens but for people around the world.
The Devilish Gaze of the Nuclear Regulation Authority
Deaths from heatstroke are surging.
In July alone, 123 people were suspected to have died from heatstroke in Tokyo’s 23 wards — the highest number in six years.
Over 90% of them were over 60 years old, and nearly 90% had died without using air conditioning.
The Nuclear Regulation Authority (NRA), a powerful body established under Article 3 of the National Government Organization Act, bears the responsibility to ensure the safety of nuclear power based on scientific and impartial judgment.
However, by abandoning this responsibility and irrationally continuing to block nuclear restarts, Japan’s electricity prices have reached some of the highest levels in the world.
One of the tragedies resulting from this situation is the sharp rise in heatstroke fatalities.
On August 2, the NRA officially concluded that Japan Atomic Power’s Tsuruga Unit 2 in Fukui Prefecture does not meet the new regulatory standards.
Two key issues were under scrutiny:
-
Is the K fault zone, located 300 meters north of Unit 2, an active fault?
-
Does the K fault extend directly beneath the Unit 2 reactor building?
There exists an interesting diagram.
It was presented on July 31 by NRA official Akira Ishiwatari during a report to Chairman Shinsuke Yamanaka.
The diagram shows the positional relationship between the K fault zone and the Unit 2 reactor building.
In the document, the red line representing the K fault disappears midway, and several fracture zones (cracks) run beneath the Unit 2 building.
Even Ishiwatari has failed to organize any scientific evidence to clearly indicate the extent of the fault.
Professor Naoaki Narabayashi, a nuclear engineering expert at Tokyo Institute of Technology who compiled a report on active faults and countermeasures, commented:
“JAPC (Japan Atomic Power Company) examined the volcanic ash and minerals in the trench samples and the surrounding geological layers to determine the age of the K fault.
They concluded that it lies in an ancient geological formation and is not an active fault, nor does it connect to the reactor building.
However, the NRA rejected the findings, claiming the evidence was ambiguous and lacked scientific basis, and insisted the possibility of future movement could not be ruled out.”
The bedrock directly beneath the Unit 2 building is granite formed approximately 65 million years ago.
The fractures have been inactive for a long time, and there is no connection to the K fault.
To further prove their case, JAPC requested additional investigations.
Yet the NRA refused entirely and closed the discussion, without presenting any evidence that the K fault connects to the known fractures beneath Unit 2.
If the additional survey scientifically and clearly proves that the K fault is not active and does not extend under the building, it would expose an inconvenient truth.
University of Tokyo Professor Takashi Okamoto, a nuclear engineering expert, criticized the NRA’s scenario as “science fiction.”
Japan now faces a sharp increase in electricity demand due to AI and data center expansion.
We must ask: can Japan supply sufficient electricity?
Can we bring down electricity prices — currently among the world’s highest — to a reasonable level?
We must not allow anti-scientific judgments to block nuclear restarts, impoverish daily life, or weaken national industry.
We must not let people die without air conditioning due to rising electricity prices.
The true mission of the NRA is to enhance the safety of the nuclear industry and enrich the lives of the people.
In December 2012, when Shinzo Abe reclaimed power, he declared a complete reversal of the Democratic Party’s zero-nuclear policy.
However, former Prime Minister Naoto Kan stated:
“The Democratic Party left behind mechanisms that can’t be easily undone. The symbol of that is the Nuclear Regulation Authority (which I created).”
(Quoted from the Hokkaido Shimbun, April 30, 2013.)
Indeed, the NRA continues to obstruct nuclear restarts and pursue the zero-nuclear policy in line with Kan’s anti-nuclear ambitions.
Its attitude toward the nuclear industry is openly hostile — almost demonic.
For example, in the West, all nuclear inspection records are digitized and accessible via computer.
In Japan, however, companies must transcribe them all onto paper.
The NRA typically requires 100,000 pages of documents — 150 binders, each 10 cm thick — totaling 15 meters in height, equivalent to a five-story building.
In Rokkasho Village, Aomori Prefecture, 300 workers are currently sweating it out in a rented gymnasium to meet the NRA’s paperwork demands.
Once submitted, the NRA reviews them with microscopic scrutiny, pointing out typographical errors and demanding revisions.
It is pure madness.
Even the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has issued strong criticism.
In early 2016, an IAEA expert team conducted a 12-day evaluation and issued a preliminary report.
Their top recommendation was to “gather more capable and experienced personnel to raise technological competence in nuclear safety through training, education, research, and international cooperation.”
That the NRA should be called out by the IAEA to “hire competent people” is a national embarrassment.
Meanwhile, countries in the West are already constructing Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) and advanced reactors.
In the U.S., some universities are even building SMRs and microreactors on campus, in collaboration with the NRC and IAEA special teams.
Professor Narabayashi commented with a wry smile:
“The NRA would probably conduct another 10-year active fault investigation for an SMR.
But they don’t even have the knowledge to evaluate SMRs, so they wouldn’t be able to conduct a proper review.
This is how Japan’s technological progress keeps falling behind the rest of the world.”
Because the NRA was established as an Article 3 body with strong independence by Kan, the ruling LDP is now afraid to confront it.
Shameful.
For the sake of the people and national interest, we must follow the IAEA’s advice and appoint experienced, capable personnel to the NRA.
And we must not neglect the dialogue between regulators and politicians — a norm in every other country.
We must ensure a safe and prosperous society and stable energy supply as the foundation for economic security.
