What is knowledge…

The definition of Wikipedia is as follows.
知識（ちしき、英：Knowledge、独：Wissen、仏：Connaissance）とは、認識によって成果、あるいは、人間や物事について抱いている考えや、技能のことである。
Knowledge (English: Knowledge, German: Wissen, French: Connaissance) is the result obtained by recognition, or ideas and skills that are held about human beings and things.
認識（英：Cognition、独：Wissen、仏：connaissance）とほぼ同義の語であるが、認識は基本的に哲学用語であり、知識は主に認識によって得られた「成果」を意味するが、認識は成果のみならず、対象を把握するに至る「作用」を含む概念である。
Although it is almost synonymous with recognition (English: Cognition, German: Wissen, French: connaissance), recognition is basically a philosophical term, knowledge mainly means "achievement" obtained by recognition, Recognition is not only a result but also a concept including "action" leading to grasping a target.
子供の頃、私は特別に決めた夢は無かったが、
When I was a child, I had no particularly decided dream but,
知識がある人にはなりたかった。
-at least, I wanted to be an intelligent person.
中年になり、子供の頃なりたかった人物になれたのか
時々考えるのだが
Now I am at middle-aged, sometimes I wonder
-weather I became the person who I dreamed to be,
想い描いた人物には未だになれていない気がする。
-but still I do not feel I am not the person wanted to be.
知識が状態として実感できた時は
何十年の前の大学で授業を受けた時であった。
When I realized that knowledge can be an aspect was
-in a class time at a university many decades ago.
外側から耳や目を通って入ってくる知識の量が
The amount of knowledge from outside
-which comes through ears and eyes,
私の中で形になって
-it made a form in my mind and
ある形態を作っていた瞬間であった。
-the form made a shape at a moment.
その出来上がった形態が明確であれば
When the shape becomes clear,
知識が時間の流れで消えることは無かったが
-the knowledge never forgotten with flow of time.
その知識の形態が不完全だと
However, if the shape of knowledge is incomplete,
その時は分かっていても
-how much understood at that time,
分かった記憶だけは残り
知識や情報自体は抜けていった。
-those knowledge and information were gone away,
-but the memory I felt understood it remained only.
現代では知識はネットにより
誰にでも平等に与えられている。
Knowledge is given equally to everyone
-by Internet in this generation.
情報を検索するスキルさえあれば、
誰でも情報を得ることは可能だ。
If someone has a searching skill to get information,
-it makes possible for us to get.
学歴が無くても
Even without educational history,
個人の能力差に関わらず、
-regardless of whether their abilities are high or low,
未知の知識を既に分かったことの既知に変換できる。
-they can convert an unknown part to making sure.
しかし、本当に『分かる』ことはどういう状態なのか、
それは誰にも未だに分からない。
However, nobody still know what is real 『understanding』
-and how it really works.
塾をやっていた頃、講師採用試験の問題の中に
『分かる』ことと『知る』ことを述べることを
設問にしたことがあった。
I used to make a test to hire a teacher when I had my cram school before,
-questioned that describe what『to know』 and 『to understand』
解答から分かったことは
What I learned from their answers,
誰も知識が何かを
明快に述べる者はいなかったことだ。
-nobody could describe clearly about what knowledge is.
彼らが出した解答で
知ることと分かることが『分かった』ことは無かった。
I could not know what is Understanding from their answer sheets,
今の時代では、知識は無限大に存在するが、
その知識は昔のような権威が無くなった。
In this generation, knowledge exists infinity,
-but it lost its authority as it used to be.
感動の無い知識になってしまったのだ。
Knowledge can’t touch minds any more.
心に響かない文字の羅列のように感じられる時さえある。
There are sometimes when it gives feeling that,
-knowledge are like an enumeration of characters
-which can’t touch my mind.
何かを分かったとしても
人の行動様式は変わらない。
Although know something,
-people’s behavior patterns never change.
何かを知っていても
心の虚しさは消えない。
Although knew something,
-mental emptiness still can’t be satisfied.
そういった知識の無力感は
無知より可能性が閉じられている感じもする。
Such kinds of helplessness of knowledge are closed harder than
-an ignorance is closed to possibility.
未知も既知も無知も
Unknown or Known or Ignorance,
今は平行な次元の中に共存するかも知れない。
-they may coexist in a parallel dimension.
それらの閉ざされた扉を開けられる鍵は
The key that can open those closed doors,
知識、認識、既知、無知
-such knowledge or recognition, known or ignorance,
それらからくるそれぞれの煩悩を
-each of those causing ambivalences,
静かに断ち切る剣の役割をする坐禅
その無念の時間かもしれない。
-but, the moment when doing zazen,
-the time of having thoughtless,
-it may can be the key and it also like a sword does,
-it may sever those ambivalences quietly.
