China to take measures to stop market slide

Speculation that the Chinese Communist Party will step in to halt the relentless slide of the country's stock markets lifted shares in Shanghai by nearly 8pc.
中国共産党は、株式市場の留まる所のない暴落を止めるべく介入する、との憶測で、上海市場は8%近く上昇した。
JP Morgan speculated yesterday that the government would spend as much as 400bn renminbi (￡28bn), or 1.5pc of GDP, to stimulate the economy.
昨日JPモルガンは、政府が最大4,000億元（￡280億）、または対GDP比1.5%の資金を、経済活性化の為に費やすと推測。
China's benchmark index rose by 178.81 points to 2523.28, its largest rise in four months, as investors rushed back into the world's worst-performing market.
世界一パフォーマンスの悪い市場に投資家が大急ぎで戻る中、中国のベンチマーク・インデックスは、4ヶ月ぶり最高の178.81ポイントという伸びを見せて、2523.28に上昇した。
Rumours swirled around Shanghai that the government would introduce measures to support the market and prevent any further loss of face.
市場を支援し、面子の丸潰れを悪化させないよう、政府が支援策を実施する、との噂は上海中を駆け巡った。
"There is speculation going around that the securities regulator will summon major brokerages for a meeting tomorrow," said Wu Kan, a fund manager at Dazhong Insurance. "It's not known what they are going to talk about," he added.
「証券監督機関が明日、大手証券会社を集めて会議をする、という噂がある」とDazhong保険のファンド・マネジャー、Wu Kanが言った。
「何を話すのかはわからない」と彼は付け加えた。
A spokesman for the securities regulator denied any knowledge of the meeting.
証券監督機関の報道官は、会議については何も知らないと述べた。
The Shanghai market has slumped by more than 60pc since last October as China's property market cooled, growth slowed and the government tightened capital controls to try to curb inflation.

Today, shares in almost all of China's big brokers, including Citic Securities, jumped by the 10pc maximum daily limit. Property companies also rallied on the expectation that the government will ease restrictions.
今日、CITIC証券を含むほぼ全ての中国大手証券会社の株価は、一日の上限である10%も急騰した。
不動産銘柄も、政府が規制を緩和するとの期待で反騰した。
"Valuations are already very cheap and very attractive," said Fan Dizhao, a fund manager at Guotai Asset Management.
