概要
本稿は，久冨善之編著『豊かさの底辺に生きる――学校システムと弱者の再生産』（青木書店，1993 年）を現在の研究視角から見つめ直したクリティークである。この共同研究は1980 年代後半から1990 年代初頭までの「バブル」の陰に隠れた日本社会の貧困をめぐって，北日本のB 市A 団地における調査をもとに，「貧困の再生産」や「剥奪の循環」といった定型像を打ち破ることを目指した意欲的なものである。では，この目的は実現されたのだろうか。この点について，「〈生活ー文脈〉理解研究会」全メンバーが，認識枠組み（レンズ）の問題，調査における自己言及的なリフレキシビティ，青年層の理解，学校および教師に関する問題，住民のコミュニケーションなどについて各々の専門領域から検討し，定型像の押しつけや調査の方法論的限界という点を批判した。その上で，上掲書に内包された将来への可能性，そして今後の貧困をめぐる実証研究の方向性の提示を試みている。

A Critique of the Research of Poverty in Japan（ 1）：Reconsidering the“ Yutakasa no Teihen ni Ikiru”
This review article concerns the Yutakasa no teihen ni ikiru：Gakkou shisutemu to jyakusya no saiseisan（Yoshiyuki Kudomi et al.，1993，Tokyo：Aoki syoten） from current sociological viewpoints． The book was an attempt to break the collective myth of the Japanese asset price bubble， by highlighting the realities of the lives of the dispossessed and dishonored， who resided in a housing project in a provincial city situated in Japan． The firsthand data presented by the authors enabled reconsideration of the discourse’s stereotype such as“reproduction of poverty” or“cycle of deprivation．”However， the book still relied on the common representations of destitution， as opposed to the scientific objects． This article，written by all members of the research project Seikatsu-Bunmyaku Rikai Kenkyukai ， highlights the false ideas and methodologies used in the book， relating to the frame of constructing the research object， reflexivity to rupture stereotype images， understanding the youth，school，and teacher，as well as ways of research on the social relationships of the residents． In summary， the book reproduces the stereotypes of the residents as outcasts．Finally，some theoretical and methodological implications for the future studies of poverty are discussed．
