It has been a whole year since the death of former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.
He was the Japanese prime minister whom Taiwanese people feel the most nostalgic and familiar with, as he emphasized that "a Taiwan emergency is a Japan emergency.
He proposed the diplomatic concept of a "free and open Indo-Pacific strategy," which many countries agreed with and followed.
He has also demonstrated his support for Taiwan through practical actions on numerous occasions and promoted deep exchanges between the people of Taiwan and Japan, leading to significant progress in Taiwan-Japan relations in areas such as security, economy, and tourism.
I want to reiterate my gratitude to former Prime Minister Abe for his significant contribution to Taiwan.
I believe that Taiwan-Japan relations will continue to grow and become more solid.
