The time of Japan, the time of the world

Offshore wind has become more dependent on China.

The following is from an article by Taishi Sugiyama, published in the current issue of the monthly magazine "Seiron" titled "Deoxygenation Single-Step is Suicide.
This paper also proves that he is one of the leading researchers and public speakers in the postwar world.
At the same time, the paper proves beyond measure how stupid and low-brow all the political parties and bureaucrats in Japan were when the Asahi Shimbun newspaper controlled them until 2014.
They and the world media have been wielding pseudo-moralism and political correctness.
This paper proves how foolish it is and what consequences it will have for the nation and the world.
It is a must-read not only for Japanese citizens but for people around the world.
The following is a continuation of the previous chapter.
Offshore wind has become more dependent on China.
In addition to solar power, China now dominates the global market for wind power generation. In the past, European countries led the world in wind power generation, taking advantage of the geographical benefits of the North Sea and Baltic Sea, where solid and stable winds blow.
However, this situation has completely changed.
China accounted for 80%, or 1,800 kW, of the 21 million kW offshore wind power capacity installed worldwide last year.
China also accounted for three-fourths of the world's share of equipment production in 2021.
More than half of onshore wind power equipment is also supplied by Chinese manufacturers.
Chinese manufacturers are also beginning to expand into the European market.
Japan is planning to introduce offshore wind power, 10 million kW by 2030 and 45 million kW by 2040, but it will probably have to import many Chinese products.
Even if a Japanese manufacturer were to build the plant, the parts would probably be supplied from China.
Generators require magnets, and China accounts for 90% of the world's mining and refining of neodymium, a rare earth used to manufacture magnets.
China also accounts for 90% of the world's neodymium magnets, which are produced from neodymium, while Japan accounts for only 10%.
Promoting wind power generation on the grounds of de-Russia and decarbonization will create a new dependence on China in Europe and Japan.
In the first place, Japan is not suitable for wind power generation due to poor wind conditions.
Many offshore wind power generation projects are planned in Japan on the Sea of Japan side of Hokkaido and the Tohoku region. Still, the operating rate of wind power generation facilities is lower than in Europe, where stable westerly winds blow, and the cost is high. It will be 50% more.
National security issues have also been pointed out in the construction of offshore wind farms.
The leakage of ocean topographic and meteorological data to Chinese companies and the interference with the functioning of defense radar systems would make it impossible to detect missiles.
Suppose offshore wind power is promoted under these circumstances.
In that case, the high costs will be borne by the public, and only Chinese companies will make money, which will not only cause defense problems but also increase dependence on China.
It would be a repeat of the failure of solar power generation.
This article continues.
