The following is from today's Sankei-sho
The emphasis in the text is mine.
South Korea's support groups for comfort women have been treated as half-sacrificing sanctuaries on the back of the prestige of the former comfort women, who have become national heroes before you know it. He has a great deal of influence over public opinion. It is a troublesome and anti-Japanese presence that is said to have 'de facto veto power over Japan-Korea diplomacy' (a senior South Korean Foreign Ministry official).
One of the leading organizations is the Justice and Memory Solidarity for the Solution of Japanese Military Sexual Slavery (formerly known as the Korean Volunteer Corps Council), whose former president, Meehyang Yoon, was elected from the ruling party in the April general election.
However, things took a turn for the worse when Lee Yong-soo, a former comfort woman who had been working with Yoon for 30 years, came forward with an accusation.
'It's called sex slavery, but it's so dirty and disgusting,' Lee told Yoon. but Yoon said, 'The U.S. gets scared only by expressing it this way.'
Ms. Lee told the South Korean newspaper JoongAng Ilbo and accused it of diverting donations to former comfort women.
The Justice League was subjected to a search of its home by South Korean prosecutors on the 20th.
Besides, at Nanum's House, a private facility where former comfort women live together, allegations surrounding the use of donations were exposed by facility staff, resulting in administrative action being taken.
Support groups that enjoyed a social status have been criticized for turning former comfort women into tools of the trade.
It seems to be a neighboring country with extreme prosperity, decline, and praise and disgrace, and Japan is not immune to this.
When I visited the history museum attached to Nanum's house a few years ago, there were articles on comfort women in the Asahi Shimbun and a photo of former National Public Safety Commissioner Okazaki Tomiko, who participated in a demonstration organized by the Korean Volunteer Corps Council.
There was also a note from a Communist Party-affiliated group.
Behind South Korea's anti-Japanese stance, there are always Japanese collaborators.
It was also a Japanese lawyer who started calling comfort women "sex slaves."
Unfortunately, it is said that Japan's enemies are Japanese.
