日本の時間、世界の時間。
The time of Japan, the time of the world

In a country with a socialist economy, double-entry bookkeeping is absolutely impossible.

The chapter I sent out on 7/22/2022.
It needs to be re-read not only by Japan but by the world.
The following is a unique feature of a conversation between Hiroshi Furuta, professor emeritus of Tsukuba University, and Genki Fujii, an international political scientist.
They were published yesterday in the monthly magazine WiLL with the title "U.S. Presidential Election overwhelming victory by Trump, What the Japanese Media Don't Report.
Hiroshi Furuta is one of the world's leading experts on South Korea and China, while Genki Fujii is one of the world's leading scholars on the situation in the United States.
It is a must-read for Japan and the rest of the world.
The Japanese people need to go to their local bookstore to get a subscription.
It is because what they are telling is the truth.
It's a monthly magazine full of truths you wouldn't get by simply subscribing to the Asahi Shimbun and watching NHK and other news programs and talk shows.

The Invisible Invasion of a Pre-modern State
Furuta:
The world has been turned upside down by the Han Corona, hasn't it? During all this, Professor Terumasa Nakanishi wrote an article in the Sankei newspaper on June 28 on the theme of "History is about to face the biggest crisis of the 21st century.
Fujii:
There is no doubt that we are at a significant historical turning point. The key phrase is "the confrontation between the United States and China. The essence of the Wuhan Corona and Minneapolis riots is the confrontation between the United States and China.
With this keystone insight, it will be easier to understand the various problems that have emerged in modern society.
In The Final Battle between America and China (Tokuma Shoten), I elucidate this point.
Furuta:
The U.S. is seriously trying to clamp down on China.
Fujii:
There's no doubt that Trump's speech in the White House Rose Garden on May 29 was a declaration of war against China by the president himself.
Furuta:
He raised the realities of China's exploitation of the U.S. economy and its defiance of Hong Kong's guarantees of autonomy.
Fujii:
Trump stated, "What the United States seeks is an open and constructive relationship with China, but to achieve this kind of relationship, we must aggressively and boldly defend our national interests.
In fact, the Trump administration is pursuing a bipartisan policy of China clampdown.
For example, Congress passed a bill to increase oversight of foreign companies listed on the stock exchange, precisely what it's doing by aiming at China's companies.
To begin with, China's state-owned enterprises do not disclose their financial reports (balance sheets. Instead, China's domestic laws require that state-owned enterprises not tell their financial accounts (balance sheets, hereafter referred to as "B.S.").
Furuta:
In a country with a socialist economy, double-entry bookkeeping is absolutely impossible.
Fujii:
Moreover, a Communist Party committee has been set up within the big companies, and they are obliged to report to the Party center. To go public in the United States, an extremely high degree of transparent B.S. disclosure was mandatory. However, for the last 20 years or so, the U.S. has been quietly allowing more than 50 Chinese companies to list in the U.S. due to the power of Wall Street's financial capital that wants to make money from Chinese companies. This bill creates an obligation to check the B.S. in detail. It will prevent China from raising money in the U.S. Many Chinese companies will be delisted. The company I'm watching most closely is Alibaba. If the company is delisted, SoftBank's Masayoshi Son will not be able to get away with it for free. His biggest asset is his Alibaba stock.
Furuta:
The U.S. is likely to step up its pursuit of intellectual property rights as well.
Fujii:
On July 7, FBI Director Wray gave a speech at the Hudson Institute and warned the American people about specific cases of intellectual theft. Of the 5,000 spy cases the FBI is currently handling, 50% of them involve China.
China is bringing human resources into its own country, having begun the "Thousand Man Plan" in 2008. More specifically, it is a program to invite top-level foreign researchers to China to make China the world's leading country in science and technology by 2050.
Furuta:
Isn't that a good-looking enslaved person driven by money?
 Fujii:
Yes, they are. It's not an exaggeration to say the program is a hunt for brains, intellectual slavery, or top researchers' abduction. Researchers from the U.S. are primarily targeted. Because China offers unbeatable conditions in terms of salaries, research funding, research facilities, and research environment, they don't realize that they are being abducted.
In fact, there have been some arrests.
For example, Professor Charles Lieber, head of chemistry and chemical biology at Harvard University and a world authority on nanotechnology, received research funding from the U.S. Department of Defense. Still, at the same time, he was on the 1,000-person program.
He didn't report it to the federal government.
It is illegal.
Furuta:
So he also received money?
Fujii:
Yes, he received $50,000 a month in research grants, $158,000 a year in living expenses, and $1.5 million as a reward for building a laboratory in China that was similar to the one he had at Harvard.
After all, Professor Lieber was arrested, but it would be the tip of the iceberg.
A US research report has announced that it has already invited 7,000 researchers.
We also know that at least three Japanese researchers are participating in the Thousand Man Project.
Furuta:
Many university professors are Marxists and pro-China, so they will soon cooperate with China.
The number of them is likely to increase rapidly in the future.
Fujii:
China's methods are extremely cunning, but Xi Jinping is unlikely to be the only one with a tail between his legs.
If it had been a wise man like Deng Xiaoping, the United States would have been completely swallowed up by the Chinese through the strategy of concealing its secrets. But, on the other hand, Xi Jinping is very straightforward in revealing everything to us (laughs).
Furuta:
If we had left the 5Gs unchecked, they would have been all controlled by Huawei.
Fujii:
Absolutely. However, Xi Jinping has announced his "China Manufacturing 2025" plan, which calls for China to take the lead in various high-tech fields by 2025. The United States, seeing this, felt a sense of urgency and worked to destroy Huawei. Xi Jinping is really an idiot (laughs).
