私が三十代後半で子供が小学生の頃、小学館英語教室の時間講師になり４年間相模原に通いました。会社から格安で講師たちはアメリカ人の英語をならうことができました。
四年間働いた後、私はＥＣＣの時間講師に変わりそれから１０年間働きました。小学生と中学生が対象です。ここでも半額でネイティブに英語を習うことが出来ました。
そのころの友人たちとはいまでも交流を続けています。私の半生を通しての大切な存在です。
月曜日青葉台のくさびやというお寿司屋さんで小学館のころの友人四人で昼食をして、Ｍさんの家で午後のコーヒ―を楽しみ話が弾みました。
皆状況は変化してそれぞれの道を歩いていますが、一瞬にしてそのころに戻ることができるのがふしぎです。

そのころの友人たちとはいまでも交流を続けています。私の半生を通しての大切な存在です。

皆状況は変化してそれぞれの道を歩いていますが、一瞬にしてそのころに戻ることができるのがふしぎです。
一月九日は孫娘の成人式でした。横浜だけで約三万六千人が新成人になるそうです。横浜アリーナで午前と午後に二回にわけて行われました。
心配していた雨もあがり、晴れ着を汚す心配もなくほっとしました。
大した混乱もなく式典は無事とり行われたそうです。
これからは一人前の大人として、いろいろ責任も重くなっていくことでしょう。頑張ってほしいです。
従兄弟にあたるミックンも晴れ着姿を見るのが嬉しいらしく始終ニコニコ顔でした。「ママが二十歳の時に着た物だよ」と古いママの写真を見せてあげました。

Last January 9 was a national holiday. It is called Coming of Age Day. Youths who will be turning 20 this year celebrate this national holiday. This is a transition period from being a child to adulthood.
Each city has its own celebration. In my area, lots of youth gathered at Yokohama arena to attend the ceremony.
My granddaughter was one of them. In Yokohama City, about 36,220 youths will be adults this year.
The Mayor of the city or a famous people often give messages to these youths. Sometimes, concerts are held.
I let my granddaughter wore a kimono because it is a traditional way to do so. I have been keeping this kimono in good condition for 25 years which my daughter had worn before.
My 11 year old grandson was so happy to see his cousin wearing a beautiful kimono so I showed him the old picture of his mother wearing the same kimono.

元旦は穏やかで温かい日でした。お雑煮とお節をいただいて初詣に出かけました。
あまりにも気持ちのいい日なので、お散歩もかねて歩いて近くの神社に、家族でお参りしました。行く途中でお参りを済まされたお花の先生ご夫妻にお会いしたり、娘のお友達とそのお子様たちにも会いました。
神社ではおみくじを引いて大吉があたり、あまりこういうことは信じない私でも、持ち帰りよみかえしています。やはりいい気分です。
神社のすぐ近くににお寺があり、ミックンが鐘をついて喜んでいました。
本当に穏やかなお正月でした。

New Year has come with mild weather and lovely winter sunlight.
On New Year’s day we had traditional New Year’s food such as zouni and osechi. After the sumptuous meal, my family and I went to the shrine to pray for a blessed year ahead of us. I wish for all my family members’ happiness and a healthy life this year.
At the shrine, you can draw your fortune slip for a price. It foretells your fortune and what lies ahead in the future. When I drew the fortune slip, it said that I will have a very good luck. People who did not have much luck tie the little fortune telling paper on the branch of the tree in the shrine.
I usually don’t believe on this kind of things but I felt so good reading about this good tidings that I had to read it over and over again.
January 3rd is my first day to see Charle for this year, after not seeing him for two days. I found out how vigorous and how happy he is. I am so relieved to see him.

さらに手づくりのチーズケーキ、また別の友人がジンジャークッキ―を持参で、それらをいただきながらカロリーのことが頭をよぎりました。
友人のお知り合いからいただかれたビデオをみせていただきました。日本の女性の地位向上に力を注いだ津田梅子 大山捨松 新島八重の三人の才女のお話しですが、時間の関係で津田
梅子のみになりました。
6才からアメリカに渡り11年間アメリカで学び、帰国して津田塾大学を創始者になりましたが、日本語はどうやって学ばれたのか疑問に思いました。
