犬 猫によりよい飼育環境を

 

 

日本では子犬や子猫をペットショップで買いますが、アメリカのいくつかの都市では犬 猫 の生体展示販売は禁止されていて、ブリダーから直接買います。
それも親から放しても問題ない時期に、直接手渡されます。
日本のペット業界の飼育環境は劣悪で、いつも可哀そうに思っていました。10月30日付けの朝日新聞によると、来夏までに飼養施設規制の導入を目指すそうです。
少しでも不幸な犬や猫が減っていけばうれしく思います。

There was an interesting article in the newspaper two days ago. It was about a new regulation with regards to selling kittens and puppies. Unlike the US or Europe, Japan has no regulations about selling of kittens and puppies. It is a usual sight to see kittens and puppies in small cages being sold at pet shops and they are not even old enough to be weaned from their mothers. The dealers can do anything to make a handsome profit and maltreat these animals.
Many Japanese animal lovers are against it. The government has started conducting a survey paving the way to the creation of regulations. I will be rejoicing if the situation would change soon.
Incidentally, today’s Rarejob’s Daily News Article is about the protection of dolphins from sightseers.
Not only cats and dogs are in small pet houses but also birds in small cages and goldfish in miserable plastic containers.
They say it is like a prison in a developing country.

健康診断

　先週は三日続けて病院に行ったのであわただしい日が続きました。
ありがたいことにシャル君はとても元気で週二回火曜日と木曜日はレッスンに付き合ってくれました。土曜日は放牧のみでのんびりすごさせました。
私は年一回の健康診断の結果、昭和医大で再検査を受けることになり、定期的に行っているのと合わせて、火 水 木と病院が続きました。幸い経過観察ということで半年後に再 チェックということになりました。これで不安が払拭され、気にしなければいけない増えた数値は体重だけということになりました。

リュウマチは相変わらずでいつも先生に「無理をしないでください」と念を押されています。「他に痛いところありますか？」と聞かれた時「はい、前足が、、、」と言って先生が大笑いされ
「人間は二本しか足はありませんよ」と言われて間違いに気づきました。本当は左足の前の部分と言いたかったのですが。
優しくて楽しい先生なので行くだけで病気が治りそうです。
飼い主を失ったペットたちの話を耳にするたび、私も元気でいなければならない責任があるのだ自覚します。

Nearly a month ago, I had my annual health/medical check-up. Based on the results, I needed a more thorough and accurate testing for breast cancer aside from the other regular examination. This has kept me very busy this week. Thankfully, I was diagnosed negative for breast cancer. I felt relieved with the findings the doctor shared with me..
Pets that have lost their owners lead a miserable life after that.
I want to be healthy so I can take care of my beloved horse, Charle.
Charle has been doing very well these past days because of the cool weather.

僕のお友達

 

 

 

 

 

 

23日早朝は16度で寒いくらいでした。今日はレッスンはないので放牧をさせに行きました。シャルが２回ゴロンとしたあと埒沿いの草を食べていたら、ジュピちゃんとグーちゃんが散歩がてら
遊びに来てくれました。シャルもそばを離れようとはせずずっと一緒にあそんでいました。グーちゃんは三回目のご対面ですが、まだシャル君への緊張が解けないようです。
帰る時も追いかけていってました。

In the morning of Oct. 23, cool autumn wind was blowing. Charle was grazing the grass along the fence.
The two dogs and their owner dropped by while they were on their way walking.
We had very happy time.

 

暑さもこれが最後とか

 

 

 

20日は夏が帰ってきたような暑さで、日中は28度まで気温があがりました。
シャル君は朝の放牧ではボｰｯと立っていましたが、レッスンでは元気に動いていました。そのあと丸洗いをしました。
午後はお花屋さんへ先生と翌日のお稽古のお花を買いに行きました。
21日はお花のお稽古でしたが、いつもは先生と二人ですがこの日は弟子三人が一緒になり楽しくお話ししながらできました。

The 20th of October was a very hot day. The temperature rose to 28 degrees Celsius during the day. It definitely felt like summer again. In the morning, I spent time with Charle. That afternoon, I went to the flower shop to buy some flowers for my next day's lesson. The flower shop staff said there wasn't a lot of flowers to choose from. Flowers need ample supply of sunlight to grow and bloom beautifully. We had too much rain last 2 months.
Next day, I arranged the flowers I purchased in my teacher's house.

We had a cool, crisp morning on the 22nd of October. Most of the horses felt quite comfortable. Horses love the cool and even the cold weather. I truly enjoy riding in this wonderful climate.

雨のモーニングティー

 

 

 

 

朝から雨です。モーニングティーの日で、今日は歩いて2５分くらいのＮさんのお宅です。
テ―ブルの上に活けられた素敵な花が目をひきました。庭から切り取ってこられたものです。先日ＴＶで見たターシャチュウダーの庭を思い出しました。
Ｉさんは風邪で来られなかったので三人で少し寂しく思いました。Ｋさんの義理のお姉さまがつい最近亡くなられたそうです。実の妹さんを8月に亡くされたばかりで京都と横浜を往復で大変だったとお察しします。

シャル君の蹄鉄も、季節に合わせて飾りつけを変えて置いていただいています。

Morning of 17th of October was a day for a 25 minutes walk away from my house to visit Mrs. N and have a morning tea with her.
It was a rainy day but we didn’t mind and we hardly noticed since we stayed inside the house.
Upon entering Mrs. N’s living room, I found a lot of beautiful flowers arranged on the table. She cut those flowers from her garden like the late Tasha Chuder who is a famous writer of picture books and her flower garden.
One of our friends could not join us that morning because she was down with a cold.
We missed her a lot.
Another friend told us that she went to Kyoto for the funeral of her sister in law last week.
Her younger sister passed away last August. She still mourns the lost of her sister.
This was a lovely yet lonely morning….but it will pass. Nothing stays forever, even loneliness.
