Cherry blossom season in Japan for 2024 is expected to peak from late March to early April, particularly in Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka.Cherry blossoms in Japan usually last about two weeks from the start of their bloom.
If you`re traveling outside of peak times, you can still enjoy early blossoms in southern regions of Japan. But if you`re going to travel to Japan in the later part of the peak season you can visit colder areas like Sendai and Hokkaido from April to May.
Cherry blossom here in the northern part usually occurs later than the rest of the country. For example, Sakura in Sendai is typically forecast to open at the end of March.
March is still fresh and on its way to bud the flowers. Just outside my house, I saw these flowers blooming and having an early sneak peek for the spring season. Well, one month is fast coming and cherry blossom here in Sendai will peak soon.
