Today, I'd like to announce "English Plus' twelfth year anniversary".
English Plus opened its door in Shibaura, Tamachi, Tokyo 12 years ago, October 1st, 2011.
Thanks to a lot of people's support, English Plus will be able to turn twelve years old tomorrow.
We really appreciate every one of you, who supports us from the bottom of our heart.
Our special thanks are especially for our students, friends, family, staff members, and some of you who support us.
Thanks to each and every one one of you.
Looking back about these twelve years, a lot of words have come to my mind.
One word can't describe these twelve years: however, the first word which came to mind this year was "gratitude."
A lot of things have happened these 12 years, and especially these recent years because of COVID-19 pandemic; however, we've been able to continue our business especially thanks to every one of our students.
Thank you very much.
Words are not enough to express how we appreciate each of you, so instead of words of appreciation, we'll continue offering better and more practical English lessons and helpful support as well as more fun activities, and friendly environment to study English here at English Plus.
We really thank every one of you, especially our students & customers, and we'll make efforts from now on too.

English Plus is a small language school located in Tamachi, Tokyo.
We're providing fun, student-centered, practical English lessons.


Today, I'd like to write about English Plus' study abroad support.
At English Plus, we have "English School" and "Study Abroad Support Service."
Currently, we recommend some ESL schools in Canadian cities, such as in Vancouver, Toronto, Whistler, Calgary, PEI, and so on.
We can recommend the schools below because either we've visited and checked them directly or talked with their school owners, managers, or Japanese counselors.
When we personally visited the schools, we checked their neighborhoods, teachers, staff, environment, and so on.
The schools we can recommend are located in safe area, and the schools' atmosphere is very friendly.
Needless to say, each school is serious about helping students to improve their students' English skills.
Here are the schools we currently recommend at English Plus:
・VGC (in Vancouver)
・GC (in Vancouver)
・Tamwood (in Vancouver, Whistler, Toronto)
・SGIC (in Vancouver, Toronto)
・CES (in Toronto)
・Study Abroad Canada (in PEI)
・ECLC (in Halifax)
The length of studying depends on a school, so you can study for a short or long period of time. (Minimum 1 week)
It depends on a season, but some of the schools offer "Teen summer programs."
This program is for mostly teenagers who are interested in learning English during vacation time.
Usually, the program starts in July and ends in August.
This program is very popular and some schools will finish accepting students very soon.
If you have time during summer or winter vacation, it's time to go and study English in Canada.
Studying English abroad is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and we're sure the participants can learn and experience a lot of things in Canada.

今日のポジティブなメッセージはアメリカの伝記作家だったWilliam B. Spragueのひとことからです。

訳は「鉄が熱くなるまで叩くのを待つのではなく、叩いて熱くしなさい」と言った感じでしょうか。

Today, I'd like to introduce English Plus's latest original YouTube movie.
As English Plus, we've uploaded some original movies on YouTube, and we began our new project "YouTube Shorts" in June, 2021.
YouTube Shorts movies mean short films, which is within a minute, and we intend to use this "Shorts" for English learners to study English.
Since then, we've uploaded "Original 40-sec challenge series" (27 movies), "What's this word? series" (4 movies), "Let's enjoy Pictionary series" (5 movies), and brand new series "Let's try to make a dialogue! series." (3 movies) until now.
Each of the movies takes only 40 seconds to study English, so please try when you have time.
Also at the same time, we've been uploading another new series "English School Diary - Vlog."
So far, we've uploaded 4 original Vlog movies.
In these movies, you can see what our staff members are doing in our daily work.
If you are interested, please check it out.
We'll try to continue uploading some movies from now on, so please follow us on YouTube.

English Plus is a small school located in Tamachi, Tokyo.
We're providing fun, student-centered, practical English lessons.


Today, I'd like to write about another one of our seven unique attempts to help students improve their English skills at our English school.
Our school, English Plus, is a small English school, but we're serious about helping our students improve their English skills, and we are trying to provide some practical lessons and self-study supports with our English Plus' approaches.
There are actually seven approaches we are trying to provide, and today let's check another one of them.
The sixth one today is about our classroom atmosphere.
We provide 90-min group lessons for adult students, and 60-min group lesson for kids students.
Each lesson is max 4 students in a class.
Our instructors are trying to keep enough time for our students to speak and communicate in English during each lesson.
Therefore, in our English lessons, our students have quite a lot of time to speak and listen to English.
Actually, the more they speak English during lessons, the more grammatical mistakes, vocabulary mistakes, and expression mistakes we can find.
Even though our students make mistakes, we encourage our students to try to communicate in English a lot.
In order to encourage our students to speak English a lot, we try to make good classroom atmosphere which our students can make mistakes.
Also, at the end of each lesson, we give "lesson feedback"; therefore, there is a chance that our students can recognize their own mistakes during the lesson.
At English Plus, we have environment that students can make mistakes during the lesson, so beginner students can join our lessons easily.
Beginners tend to be shy about making mistakes during lessons, but we always encourage them to do their best and not to worry about making mistakes here at English Plus.
We understand "we can learn from our own mistakes", so we try to have good study environment for English learners.

Today, I'd like to write about English Plus' latest activity about infection prevention.
As of today, we can see and hear a lot of news reports about Coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
Actually, on March 11th 2020, The World Health Organization (WHO) declared COVID-19 a pandemic, and Japanese government declared the state of emergency about COVID-19 on April 8th 2020.
Though the state of emergency was lifted on May 25th, the number of infected patients has been increasing again since then.
In an effort to prevent and minimize the spread of any infectious disease including COVID-19, English Plus has made "infection prevention policy."
For instance,
1. The staff wash hands regularly
2. The staff try to stay healthy, but when their condition is not good, they stay at home
3. The staff wear face masks as a precautionary measure when necessary
4. The staff and students use hand sanitizer when necessary, especially before getting any beverages
5. Disinfectants are regularly used during cleaning, especially in locations frequented by large numbers of people, such as desks, chairs, and so on.
6. The staff ventilates the facility regularly
7. During the lessons, we try to keep distance
and so on.
In addition to prevent the spread of infectious disease, we have got "Tokyo's Kansen-Boshi Tettei Sengen Sticker" (A sticker by Tokyo Metropolitan Government to prove that the shop prevents the spread of infection.)
In order to prevent the spread any infectious disease to protect our students and staff, we'll do what we should do to make a safe environment to study English from now on too.
