Today, I'd like to introduce some English phrases that can be used in business.
In your daily business, I guess you may have a chance to go drinking with co-workers, clients and so on.
When you go drinking, sometimes you might be asked how much alcohol you can drink.
So, let's learn how to say in this case.
For example...
"If you can drink a lot, you can say..."
・I can drink.
・I can drink a lot.
・I am a hard drinker.
・I am a heavy drinker.
・I can drink like a fish.
"If you can drink a little, you can say..."
・I only drink socially.
・I'm a social drinker.
"If you can't drink, you can say..."
・I can't drink much.
・I can't drink.
・I get drunk easily.
When you have a chance, please use the phrases above!

English Plus英語学校内イベント～Christmas Partyのご紹介

Good morning and thank you for your time to visit English Plus blog!
Today, I'd like to introduce English Plus' school event in December.
We're going to hold the Christmas party for our students at English Plus!
We are now thinking about the contents of the party, but we hope the participants will be able to enjoy food, drink, games and English communication at the party!
Since we learned some tips from our 1st Anniversary and Halloween party last month, we're going to prepare well this time!
I'd like to let you know how our preparation for the party is going in this blog!

海外旅行の色々な場面で使える“May I～?”の英語表現をマスターしよう

Good morning and thanks a lot to visit this English Plus blog!
Today, let's learn some useful English expressions for travel.
Currently, I'm checking Travel English lessons at English Plus when I have time.
Speaking of travel, winter vacation is about a month away and some of you might be thinking about going abroad this holiday!
When we go abroad, we have a chance to communicate in English.
So, today let's practice very useful English "May I...?"
"May I..." needs "Verb" + "Noun" and we can use this in different situations when we go on a travel!
For example...
(On the airplane or train)
・May I change to this seat?
・May I recline my seat?
・May I put the armrest up?
・May I pull down the shade?
・May I get through?
・May I sit here?
(In a museum)
・May I take a picture here?
(Shopping)
・May I try this on?
There are a lot more "May I...?" expressions we can make!

本日は“海外旅行の色々な場面で使える“May I～?”の英語表現をマスターしよう”です。

最近では、自分の手が空いている時にEnglish Plus英語学校の“旅行用英会話”の手直しをしています。

旅行と言えば、冬休みもあと約１カ月に迫ってきましたが、皆様のご予定はいかがでしょうか？

海外旅行に行かれる方もいらっしゃると思いますが、海外に行かれると自然に英語でコミュニケーションを図る機会も増えると思います。

そんな今日は海外旅行時に色々な場面で使える“May I...?”の英語表現を学んでいきたいと思います。

“May I...?”の意味は“…してもいいですか？”というような意味になり、May Iの直後には“動詞＋名詞”が入りますが、このMay I...?の表現は海外旅行で大活躍します。

例えば…

(飛行機の中や電車の中では)

・May I change to this seat? （こちらの席に移ってもいいですか？）

・May I recline my seat? （背もたれを倒してもいいですか？）

・May I put the armrest up?　（ひじ掛けを上に上げてもいいですか？）

・May I pull down the shade? （窓の日よけを下ろしてもいいですか？）

・May I get through? （通していただけますか？）

・May I sit here? （ここに座ってもいいですか？）

(美術館などでは)

・May I take a picture here? （ここで写真を撮ってもいいですか？）

(買い物では)

・May I try this on? （これを試着してもいいですか？）

このように"May I...?"で色々な英語表現を作ることが可能ですので覚えておきましょう！

１２月のキッズ英語イベントのお知らせ

Good morning and thank you so much for visiting English Plus blog!
Today, I'd like to announce next month's English event for kids.
On December 16th (Sun), we're going to give a 30-minute English lesson for kids!
It's from 11 AM to 11:30 AM and the place is in Maruzen/Junkudo book store's cafe, which is located on the 7th floor of Tokyu department store in Shibuya.
Any kids from about 5 to 10 are welcome to join this event!
The participants can enjoy learning English through a variety of fun games!
No reservation is necessary; however, if there are too many participants, we're sorry but you might not be able to join the lesson.
If you are interested, please join the event on December 16th!

Kids lesson at Maruzen/Junkudo Bookstore in Shibuya from 11:00 on Dec 16th!

１２月のキッズレッスンは１２月１６日（日）の予定になりました。

時間は１１時～１１時３０分（３０分前後のレッスンになります）、場所は渋谷の東急百貨店本店７階（渋谷駅より徒歩約５分）の丸善・ジュンク堂書店さんのカフェコーナーの一角となります。

５～１０歳のお子様が対象となりますが、年齢が多少前後しても参加可能です！

レッスンの中では、様々なゲームを通して楽しく英語を学んでいきます！

ご予約は必要ありませんが、参加者多数の場合は申し訳ございませんが、ご参加いただけない場合もございますのでご了承ください。

Good morning, and I appreciate your visiting to English Plus blog!
Today, let’s learn some English phrases which can be used in business situation.
To have a good communicate with others, it’s important to understand what they are talking about since good communication is essential to make a good relationship!
So, today's point is to check what others are talking about.
In order to do so, the following phrases might help you!
For instance,
・I'm sorry, but you're speaking too fast.
・Please wait a second. Please slow down.
・Hold on please. Could you speak more slowly?
・I'm sorry but I couldn't catch what you said.
・Could you explain a little more on that?
・Sorry, I didn't understand what you said.
・Can I check my understanding?
Let's use if you are not sure what they are talking about!

そんな今日は“相手が言っている事がわからない時にビジネスでも使える”英語を紹介したいと思います。

例えば・・・

・I'm sorry, but you're speaking too fast. （すみませんが、速すぎて聞き取れません）

・Please wait a second. Please slow down. （ちょっとスピードを落としてください）

・Hold on please. Could you speak more slowly? （申し訳ないのですが、もっとゆっくり話していただけますか？）

・I'm sorry. I couldn't catch what you said. （すみませんが、あなたの言ったことが聞き取れませんでした）

・Could you explain a little more on that? （それについてもう少し説明していただけますか？）

・Sorry, I didn't understand what you said. （すみませんが、あなたの言ったことが理解できませんでした）

Today, let's learn some useful English for your next vacation.
Winter vacation is coming soon!
Do you have any plans this winter holiday?
If you are thinking about going abroad, you should learn some English for some emergency cases just in case!
One of the emergency situations we can imagine is when you catch a cold in a foreign country and tell a doctor what your symptom is in English.
So, today let's learn how to tell a doctor what your symptom is in English.
For instance...
・I have a stuffy nose.

・I have a (slight) fever.
・I have a sore throat.
