English Plus英語学校内イベント～Cherry blossom viewing slideshow Partyを開催しました

Good morning and thank you for visiting English Plus blog!
Today, I'd like to write about English Plus' recent event.
Yesterday evening, we had the Cherry blossoms viewing slideshow party for our students!
The main theme of the party was to talk in English and all of the participants were really trying hard to communicate in English! (Good job!)
Also, the party was a potluck party and there were a lot of delicious food, sweets and drinks! (Thanks a lot everyone!)
Through the party, we were able to enjoy food, drink, and English communication!
When we have a party next time, we hope to hold a better one and more students will join it!

おはようございます。English Plus英語講師のarataです。

本日は“English Plus英語学校内イベント～Cherry blossom viewing slideshow Partyを開催しました”です。

昨日、レッスン終了後にEnglish Plusの生徒の方々を対象とした“Cherry blossom viewing slideshow Party”を開催しました。

今回のパーティーのテーマは主に“英語を話す”“英語でコミュニケーション”ということでしたが、参加者全員が英語でコミュニケーションを図っており、参加者全員の姿勢はとても良かったと思います。

なお、パーティーは持ち寄りパーティーということで、参加者の皆様にはおいしい食事、スナック、スウィーツ、飲み物などをお持ちいただきました。（ありがとうございました！）

パーティーの中では、食事・ドリンク・英語でのコミュニケーション、簡単な英語のゲームなどを皆で楽しむことができました。

次回以降のイベント（パーティー）でも、生徒の方々がもっともっと英語コミュニケーションを楽しめるようなイベントを開催したいと思います！

道路に関する様々な英語

Good morning and I really appreciate your visit to English Plus blog!
Today, let’s learn some daily English vocabulary.
Today's vocabulary is related to streets.
When I was in Canada, one thing I found interesting was names of streets.
Each street whether short or long has their own names some of the names were interesting.
Also, I realized there are a lot of types of streets.
So, today let's learn some English vocabulary about streets.
For instance...
・street
・avenue
・boulevard
・road
・alley
・drive
・lane
・way
・expressway
These words might appear in the TOEIC test, so let's learn them now!

本日は“道路に関する様々な英語”です。

今日のトピックは“道路”に関する英語です。

自分がカナダにいた時、日本と違って面白いなと感じたことの１つに道路の名前に関してです。

カナダの道路は、１つ１つの道（どんなに短くても、長くても）に名前がついており、中にはユニークな名前の物もありました。

名前が違うのと同時に、道の種類も１種類だけでなく、色々な種類があることにも気づきました。

そこで今日は様々な“道路に関する英語”を学んでいきたいと思います。

例えば…

・street

・avenue

・boulevard

・road

・alley

・drive

・lane

・way

上記の英語は基本的に全て“道路・道”という意味になります。

また補足ですが“高速道路”は…

・expressway

これらの英語はTOEICに出てくることもあるので、少し頭に入れておきましょう！

Today, I'd like to introduce trial lessons at our English school.
Our trial lessons are, I think, quite unique since trial students can join one of our regular lessons.
The students who take trial lesson can not only experience our lesson and atmosphere but also learn some English through the lesson!

本日は“実際のレッスンに参加して英語を学べる体験レッスン英語学校で実施中 at English Plus”です。

English Plusの英語学校では随時、体験レッスンを実施中です。

English Plusの体験レッスンのユニークな点としましては、体験レッスンでも普通の生徒の方と同様に、通常のレッスン（９０分もしくは４５分）にお入りいただける点です。

そのため体験レッスンの方でも、実際のレッスンを受けてレッスンの仕方や雰囲気を体験できるだけでなく、レッスンを通して実際に英語を学べると思います。

基礎英語の復習エクササイズ ～ 英語の基本時制 （Part 2）

Today, let's practice English grammar!
At our English school, we have "Skill-Up" course.
In this Skill-Up course, students learn English grammar for communication and they practice a lot in the lesson.
The aim of Skill-Up course is that students can make accurate sentences and gain confidence to speak English.
Through the lessons, students learn some fundamental grammar points, which are important for English communication!
One of the fundamental grammar points is verb tenses and today let's practice verb tenses!
First, please read this sentence...
"I read this blog every day."
Now, change the sentence above with these words.
e.g. now → I'm reading this blog now.

本日は“基礎英語の復習エクササイズ ～ 英語の基本時制 （Part 2）”です。

English Plusの英語学校では、基礎から英語を学べるSkill-Up（基礎英語）コースを開講中です。

Skill-Upのレッスンでは、英語コミュニケーションに必要な文法事項を中心に学び、使い、身につけていきます。

このSkill-Upコースでは“生徒の方々が正確な英語力を身につけ、自分の英語に自信を持つ”ことを目標にしています。

このコースでは、英語コミュニケーションに必要な様々な文法事項を学んでいきますが、基礎的な文法事項の１つに“時制”があります。

今日は“基礎英語の復習エクササイズ”と題し、英語の基本時制を学んでいきたいと思います。

まずは、次の文章を音読してみましょう"I read this blog every day."

次に下記の５つの単語を上記の文章にあてはめてみましょう。

Today, let's learn some English (adjectives).
There are a lot of roads around English Plus, Tokyo, Tamachi.
Most of the roads around English Plus are busy all day long.
Besides busy, there are some English (adjectives) to describe roads.
Today let's learn some of them.
For instance, "This road is..."
・secure
・safe
・acceptable
・unsafe
・risky
・hazardous
・dangerous
・treacherous
These adjectives may be useful in the future, so let's them now!

本日は“道路の安全・危険を表す英語表現”です。

English Plus（東京・田町）の周辺には、たくさんの（幹線）道路があります。

周囲のほとんどの道路は終日忙しく、車が途絶えることがない感じです。

道路は“忙しい”の他、様々な英語（形容詞）が使えますが、今日はいくつか“道路の安全・危険”に関する英語表現を学んでいきたいと思います。

例えば…"This road is...（この道路は…）"

・secure （とても安全な）

・safe （安全な）

・acceptable （まあまあ安全な）

・unsafe （安全ではない）

・risky （危険性がある）

Today I'll announce English Plus' Golden week schedule.
Golden week is a long holiday in Japan, which is generally between the end of April and May 5.
During this period, English Plus is going to be closed.
The exact date is from April 28th to May 5th.
During this holiday, both English school and cafe are going to be closed, which means there is no lesson or we don't serve coffee or lunch.
