「Details have begun to emerge of the final moments of an Ethiopian Airlines flight which crashed three weeks ago.」

「of the final moments」はDetailsに係るだろうか、それともemergeの支配だろうか。後者の理解で辞書的・文法的にはよさそうだ。

　で、その最後の瞬間だが「One pilot, according to the Wall Street Journal, said to the other "pitch up, pitch up!" before their radio died」音声が途切れるまえの言葉として。

　六分で墜落ですから、まあ…つまり、2-3分以内に『あ、このシステム、完璧バグってるわ。このままだと死ぬなあ』と確信して同僚を説き伏せ、システムを切って手動に切り替えないとダメってわけだ。うん無理。墜落まえ3分の段階でもはや墜落確定コースにはいってるだろうし―スピードとか高度とか。

「the information it has "paints a picture of a catastrophic failure that quickly overwhelmed the flight crew".」

「Boeing has redesigned the software so that it will disable MCAS if it receives conflicting data from its sensors.」とあり、諸種センサーから矛盾したデータが来た場合、システムを無効化するパッチをあてるとか。いや最初からくれよ、という気はする。

　まあボーイングとしては現時点では「Earlier this week, Boeing said that the upgrades were not an admission that the system had caused the crashes.」ソフトウェア不具合は墜落の原因ではないとの立場を―まあ示すだろう、うん。
