日本の時間、世界の時間。
The time of Japan, the time of the world

This kind of invisible malice lurks in many parts of the world, including the Asahi Shimbun.

The following is from Masayuki Takayama's latest book, released on 1 Sep 2022, 'Japanese! Awaken!
This book also proves that he is the one and only journalist in the post-war world.
A must-read not only for the Japanese people but for people worldwide.
Preface
Newspaper journalists should reflect on Shinzo Abe's final days.
Newspaper journalists must pursue the truth, and I was taught not to give in to the pressure of any kind.
I believed the newspaper was built on that spirit when the Lockheed scandal happened.
I saw first-hand how easily the news was distorted.
The incident was bizarre from the outset.
Mail was misdelivered to a US Senate committee.
It is illegal to open it without permission, but when they did, they found a document implicating Kakuei Tanaka and the Roc company in bribery.
This kind of dubious material of unknown origin has no evidentiary value in a proper law-abiding country as "fruit on a poisonous tree."
However, the investigative team from the Tokyo District Public Prosecutors Office filed the case, saying that it was "excellent evidence."
Kakuei, who worked to realize the remodeling of the Japanese archipelago and rebuild the Greater East Asia Co-prosperity Circle, had a feud with the US.
The US used the Foreign Correspondents' Club to remove Hatoyama Ichiro, who had once criticized the atomic bombing.
In the same way, the Foreign Correspondents' Club hung Kakuei and forced him to resign as Prime Minister.
The material was A Study of Kakuei Tanaka by Takashi Tachibana.
Nevertheless, Kakuei's power did not wane.
The US set up the Lockheed affair to put a stop to it.
The investigative team from the Tokyo District Public Prosecutors Office replaced the Foreign Press Association.
The investigative team from the Tokyo District Public Prosecutors Office, which had overwhelming power, turned the poisoned fruit into evidence. The commissioned interrogation of the Rockefeller executives was also "good evidence without cross-examination."
The newspaper journalists were indeed puzzled, but Yusuke Yoshinaga, Deputy Chief of the Special Investigation Department, told them brazenly that "Americans swear on oath in the Bible, so there are no lies."
The reporters had no spirit, even though they were supposed to discuss the prosecution's power.
They were subservient to Yoshinaga and slammed Kakuei's financial connections in the paper using the banal pattern of 'money and politicians.'
Thus, the investigative team from the Tokyo District Public Prosecutors Office won the gold star for the arrest of the Prime Minister, and Takashi Tachibana, a mere investigative document maker, became a journalism star.
In 2016, 20 years after the incident, Shintaro Ishihara, who criticized Kakuei together, woke up after graduation and wrote Genius, a letter of apology from Ishihara to the great politician Kakuei by recounting Kakuei's regret.
I think many journalists read it too.
I thought they might have blushed and reflected on their humiliation as reporters who, fearing the prosecutors, did as they were told and disgraced Kakuei.
But the reality was different.
After that, the newspapers became afraid of North Korea and turned a blind eye to the abduction scandal.
Then politician Shinzo Abe flew to the North, forced Kim Jong-il to admit to the abductions, and recovered the abductees.
The newspapers did not reflect on the incident and, on the contrary, were jealous of Abe.
The Asahi Shimbun and others brought up the lies about the comfort women and wrote, "Past atonement rather than abduction.''
In contrast, Abe confronted the fact that "the comfort women were lies by Seiji Yoshida spread by Asahi as if they were facts."
It was just before the formation of the second Abe administration.
Asahi grudgingly acknowledged the fact that it had been undermining Japan for 30 years but did not apologize.
In the Lockheed affair, the special investigators took the lead in beating Kakuei, and now Asahi itself took the lead in beating Abe.
The Constitutional Democratic Party of Japan (DPJ) and the Communist Party of Japan (CPJ) came close, as did Jiro Yamaguchi and others.
Meanwhile, Abe issued the Abe Danwa, which stated that "Japan stood on its own while the Western whales and US tigers encroached on Asia, defeated the invading Russians and encouraged the colonizers," thereby banishing the Murayama Tomiichi Danwa, which stated that "only the Japanese were to blame."
The Abe statement corrected the Japanese people's view of history.
It also made them more open to the world.
It also identified China as the "greatest threat" to today's crisis.
This recognition led to the concept of a 'free and open Indo-Pacific.'
Prime Minister Abe's worldview first shook the US.
If it could contain only Japan, East Asia would be fine, but now an uncontrollable monster, China, has emerged.
The Abe Plan was the only way to contain it.
Prime Minister Abe also enacted the right of collective self-defense under the national ruin Constitution.
For the first time since the establishment of the Japan-US Security Treaty, joint operations between the two countries are now possible.
In other words, the defense of the country took shape.
Someone said that Mr. Abe had done the work of ten years of government in one year.
But the resentful Asahi never makes such an assessment.
Instead, it devoted its space to personal attacks on Prime Minister Abe.
The Morikake scandal.
The allegations have no basis or facts.
It is enough to say that Moritomo and Akie were acquaintances.
So they repeated the slanderous allegations based on illusions and intuition.
The aim was to trivialize Prime Minister Abe.
The aim was to make him out to be a corrupt politician, just like Kakuei.
If people are dissatisfied with Tetsuya Yamagami, for example, they are made to believe it is Abe's fault.
Jiro Yamaguchi is encouraged to "beat Abe to death" at every opportunity.
It was clearly an incitement to murder.
And it was really relentless.
Whenever the Prime Minister made a speech on the street, he would make the Asahi faction shout, "Die Abe."
If the police restricted them, they would appeal to the courts to get a judgment that "restricting the public's freedom of expression is an unconstitutional act" and make a big fuss about it in the papers again.
The assassination of former Prime Minister Abe in front of Yamato Saidaiji Station appears to have been more than the sloppiness of the Nara Prefectural Police; it seems that Asahi set up the opportunity for the terrorist attack to be carried out.
This kind of invisible malice lurks in many parts of the world, including the Asahi Shimbun.
I would be happy if this book helps you to spot them.
At the end of this book, I would like to pray for the repose of the soul of former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and reflect on his regret.
Masayuki Takayama
